@DRFGrening: Despite the 4th-place finish, trainer Jonathan Thomas did not rule out the BC for Catholic Boy. And if he goes, and it's far from certain that he would, it be would be the Classic. "To me, watching that, he would definitely scream a little more real estate," Thomas said.

The only thing less likely than Catholic Boy running in the BC is him hitting the board in any race he runs in.

I don’t like him at 10f, but there also isn’t much in here. That said, I’ll likely be looking for a bomber.

Is there any way enough people bet on Elate for her to stay at 6/1? I know this isn’t a killer group, but I give her almost zero chance.

Factoid: Owendale has never won 2 races in a row.
He and Mongolian Groom... are the only two horses in the Classic to hold that distinct honor.

I like H.P. for a longer price look....has won last three races after a defeat with a 1/5/1/2/1/3/? running line and the swami says it's time!....and he has a really nice nose...makes me want to smooch him!

Over and under for the Distaff is 1:52
For the Classic, it’s 3:00. Ok, 2:04 I’m taking over on both.

Good thing to you. Other people are allowed to have different opinions, no matter if you agree with them or not. You’re more of a traditionalist and that’s fine. I like to see challenges. It’s extremely easy and safe and even logical to see a horse like Bricks and Mortar run in the Turf and Midnight Bisou run in the Distaff. We know that they can handle those conditions. But you can’t tell me that as a fan, it wouldn’t have added more intrigue to the Classic to have both of them run there instead. Maybe I’m way off (and I’m sure you would say I am) but I believe that of Code of Honor or McKinzie had won the Classic, they probably win HoY with it, no matter what Bricks or Midnight did in their respective races. Bricks and Midnight both had divisional title a locked up even with loses. So I don’t think there was anything to lose by shooting for the bigger prize.

There are times to take shots, no doubt, but there are also times where the appropriate spots are obvious. Clearly both Bricks and Mortar, as well as Midnight Bisou, ran in the right spots. Expected value matters, both positively and negatively. You say they had nothing to lose. Bricks and Mortar won $2 million yesterday, plus perhaps any bonuses tied to his stud deal, when he sealed up a Horse of the Year title that pretty much everyone other than you believe he would have gotten regardless of the Classic result. Calling me a "traditionalist" ( you gotta love idiotic passive aggressive stupidity on the internet ) when all I am is realistic, while also being extremely well aware of times when taking risks are worthwhile, just shows how little you actually understand ( relative to what you think you understand ).

Midnight Bisou was scheduled to be sold at The November Sale, Fasig-Tipton's breeding stock sale in Lexington, but the ownership group of Bloom Racing, Madaket Stables, and Allen Racing elected to keep her in training, with Jeff Bloom, the head of Bloom Racing, saying the time is at hand for the Steve Asmussen-trained 4-year-old to take on the boys, perhaps in the Pegasus and/or the Saudi Cup.
"Will she run against the boys? Yes," Bloom said. "We'll look at the Pegasus and the Saudi Cup. She's been consistently happy and sound and thrives on her job, so as long as she wants to do it, we'll let her run. We'll work out a plan to get back to the Breeders' Cup."
