Will watch when home tonight but the early morning Siros handicapping shows you two put on were comedy gold. Living in the South I had never heard of Harvey till then.

Fun interview! The way Harvey told the story of "Doc" responding to "Is there a doctor in the house?" and making the fast epilepsy diagnosis while still copying down exacta prices from the toteboard was hilarious.

finally had a chance to watch it - it was just wonderful.
I remember Beyer giving out a lock on Harvey's Show - it was a shipper from Penn National. Of course the horse lost and I remember seeing people yelling at Beyer saying XXXXXX Who? (can't recall the horse - but I have to admit -I bet it!)

"They pay you to go to Saratoga?" "That's what we have up here, little guys with clipboards." When I hear about the office life at NYRA back in the day, I cannot imagine the comradery that must have existed. You were lucky, Andy, to be able to call him a friend. We all were lucky just to hear the stories. |
