Olympic Chief First Timer

Yep and he has only one published workout of 3/8 mile in 38.4
The morning line on this horse should be 1000/1. Plus they
put 15k to enter him and run him in the Ark. Derby. Thats
15k spent very unwisely.

Sometimes he even forgets where the mile finish line is. He's so worried about the horses behind making a big late move that he forgets where the finish line is. He's a Oaklawn fixture.

With ole D.Wayne you never know. It would not be like the earth ended if the horse won. He has pulled this crud off before.

is Olympic Chief a first time starter? wtf

Deadly Dealer's race on paper looks as freaky as in person 22.1 / 44.1 / 108.1 / 127.4
Not to mention, stumbling at the gate...He looks, so far, to have "the goods"..I hope he can stretch it out and take the class hike with no problem..

Answering my own question, it's $100K. If one of the horses with no graded earnings finishes 3rd, it will be in an earnings tie with Chelokee and Reporting For Duty. If the cutoff ends up being $100K, and there is only room for one more horse (with $100K earnings), how will they decide which one gets in? Is it the horse that earned the $100K first?

3rd would be close, depending on defections.
Can you imagine if he somehow got up for third and they went ahead and ran him in the Derby?

That would be nuts... LOL

(It wouldn't surprise me, though.)

And Storm in May surfaces again?!?!

I'm so confused -- for as much as I like this horse -- as to what on Earth they are trying to do with him.

Of course I'll be rooting for him again Saturday, though not wagering a penny.

I was really hoping to see Slew's Tizzy in this race. I had high hopes for that colt. He had a nice work out last week.

Probably the more reasonable thing to say would be that all the 6F races are on Friday. About 10 of them.

Wallace in a tux, in Arkansas, saying "short stretch of the mile" is just absolutely pimp....and he'll probably have a couple of those homely chicks in jockey silks that help with the post position draw with him on Saturday... Terry Wallace, I can tell he's a local legend and I've never been there.

He's actually my pick in this race, i dont think his huge speed firgure in his maiden score was a fluke, and you must remember he is very well regarded he was favored over curlin last time out and prado came in to ride him, now prado dosent comeback to ride obviously he was disgusted with the performance last time out, but i still think this horse can improve and win.

i think he also will get a good setup with not much speed in the race he could sit off of deadly dealer, and if jv and deadly dealer dont want to go early then he could find himself on a easy lead.

I know its a bit of a reach of his last effore but im not intrested in curlin at even money or lower, and i truly belive deadly dealer is a bet against in this spot, i dont like the long break between the allowance score and now, if he was ready to go they would have ran him in another derby prep, because now at this point this is your only shot to get into the derby

Actually, I disagree. He got away with a very easy opening quarter and I don't think he got eyeballed the entire race (just going by the chart). Then he couldn't rate and couldn't stay going 8 1/2 furlongs, now he's gotta try to rate again off a very quick horse and stay 9 furlongs.

As far as I'm concerned, as a Curlin fan, I need Flying First Class in the race just to keep Deadly Dealer honest. There's no speed besides those two, and even though I don't think DD stays the trip, if he's allowed to saunter up front, he probably isn't coming back to the pack.

If anyone pressures Deadly Dealer, I think Curlin picks 'em all off.

everything you said makes sense, but im sure thats what alot of ppl are thinking. im looking outside the box and trying to beat a short priced favorite, i wont be betting much into the race, i will be playing the ntra pick 4 though.
i really belive that ffc needed the last race first time going long, and i think he could be sitting on a huge race saturday

Hey, crazier things have happened. It won't, he'll finish dead last by 30 lengths... but a TC winner was a maiden when he ran in the Derby

the more i look at this race, the more i like flying first class

you say he had a very very soft opening quarter in the maiden score, but since when is 22.1 soft for a horse making only his second career start ?
also you must not that lukas is actually doing pretty well at this meet, he is 17% winners, and almost 50% in the money.

Compared to the other first quarters on the card, it was molasses.

The bottom line is Deadly Dealer is faster, so in order to win, Flying First Class is going to have to (a.) learn how to rate, (b.) hope Deadly Dealer starts wilting late, (c.) navigate an extra 1/16 after spitting the bit six furlongs into the race last time and (d.) hold off Curlin and the other closers late.

I think he's a toss.

Curlin romps unless your horse lets Deadly Dealer get away with murder.
