Im getting some good ideas here guys but i keep hearing about "wheeling" is that what im doing when i put 2,3,4/1? If you dont do that then how do you bet exactas??and trifectas???

That's called backwheeling when you use multiple horses for 1st and a single for second. It works at a decent clip when you're wheeling a horse like Perfect Drift for second, but most of the time not so much.

It's far wiser to wheel a single on top and multiples for second, since it's usually much easier to find a horse that can win, rather than a horse that will run second...like Perfect Drift.

So how do bet when you really really like a horse???? I could really use help here guys/gals. Just win, put that horse in 1 hole in exacta over couple others? One hole in tri over others?? What is the best way to bet when you have one horse picked out and you think you have a pretty good handle on the race??

that's a part wheel provided there are more than 4 horses. 'wheeling' would be all/1, 1/all

I think that's where the mixup is. I call that full wheeling or wheeling all, and everything else just wheeling. That must be where people are missing each other, because anyone who says they don't wheel at all (including part wheels) is lying.
