If I had to rank the top 10 hitters in baseball as of right now, I think I would have to go with this;
1. David Ortiz 2. Albert Pujols 3. Alex Rodriguez 4. Manny Ramirez 5. Vladimir Guerrero 6. Ryan Howard 7. Matt Holliday 8. Magglio Ordóñez 9. Chase Utley 10. Todd Helton or Ichiro Suzuki Again, just in my opinion...however, you could swap 3-20 on most lists and probably have a valid arguement for each... |

Manny has been hurt all year Chuck and has actually improved his fielding in Boston playing a quirky left field at home that is harder than it looks at first blush. I'll give you his production way down this year but he has produced for much longer than many on your list. Manny has protected Ortiz in that line up since he got to Boston and has pretty much done what was asked of him sometimes sacrificing numbers for the team that Boston has become. Very Very Streaky hitter who may yet have another World Series MVP to go with his 2004 one. Believe me the worst thing Cleveland saw in the division playoffs was that Manny seemed to be swinging pain free... And how can you not like a guy who hates to speak in public but still gives the hilarious honest interview he gave Friday night which pretty much solidified his place in the all sound bite hall of fame. So leave my Manny alone or we'll have to take your prize money for Mixteca at Keeneland. |

ror!! Oh I admit it...I'm an imbecile. But what I meant was Hillary Clitton's campaign manager is paying Manny not to endorse her. Not so funny or witty I guess. |

Over the last 5 years; ARod - .300 avg, 28 2B, 2 3B, 44 HR, 126 RBI, .401 OBP Ortiz - .302 avg, 41 2B, 2 3B, 44 HR, 128 RBI, .401 OBP Pujols- .336 avg, 42 2B, 1 3B, 42 HR, 121 RBI, .429 OBP Based on that, I have no problem with Pujols being #1. I would still say ARod is #3, easily. |

Any top ten hitter list that does not have Chase Utley on it can not be taken seriously. Ryan Howard is NOT in the top ten as his bat has a major hole in it. Pujols, Ichiro, and Cabrera should be in the top 5 of everyone who watches baseball lists. Manny doesnt crack the top 8 either, hasnt for the past few years.
My list reads as follows 1. Pujols 2. Ichiro 3. A Rod 4. Utley 5. Cabrera 6. Holliday 7. D Wright 8. Ortiz 9. Guerrero (regular season only lol) 10. H Ramirez
