Tagg's got himself a horse.

A lot of people were so "dissapointed" with Nobiz in the Dwyer. I don't think the betting public understood that he ran with a better running style in the Dwyer. Nobiz ran his best dirt race as a 3yo in the Dwyer, his best style since the 2yo Remsen Stakes, but was beat by another horse who happened to run a brilliant race. (similar to those who bashed Curlin's Haskell)

Enough about AGS who is one of my first BC tosses.

Nobiz was born to be a classic distance warrior. Right now he is king of the 9furlong 3yo turf horses. He made a huge move and made Red Giant look more like the Hobbit. I would like to see how Nobiz develops, not necessarily urgent to do big things on Breeders Cup day. I hope to see this big guy run at 4 - he looks to take the title of best animal of his crop when Hard Spun retires.

Default This horse is getting better fast

This was a very nice win, If all the heavy hitters get put off to stud, it leaves Nobiz likely to go back to the dirt. Some horses get better, he may be one of them, plus he's a big horse, this win today was very impressive.

any idea of his next start? will he go to the bc, and if so, the turf?

Default Hollywood Derby

Tagg is saying Hollywood Derby. The Europeans on TVG were very impressed with nobiz effort. I think he will go back to the dirt after all these 3 year olds retire.

Default maybe he's a better horse

Does anyone allow a horse to get better? He is a huge horse, think 7 footer, aren't most of those guys better at 28 than 20. I'm not saying I'm just saying whats the glory in being the best turf horse in the America, ask English Channel. Tagg has nothing to lose, all the three year olds are retiring, he will have to beat cp west, grasshopper and Zanjero to be the top dirt horse, not exactly tough.

i'd keep him on the turf. nothing wrong with being a good turf horse, i really wish people would quit thinking that excelling on that surface somehow makes you a lesser horse than if you could win on dirt. turf still treated like the red headed step child of racing, it's a shame.
he can earn large checks, and turf is kinder to a horse than dirt.

Default don't disagree with ya

Danzig, I don't disagree with ya, but the fact is Turf horses are treated like the stepchildren, Manilla was my favorite horse, all the turf horses go off to stud, get no mares and are forgotten.

I think what u say makes perfect sense. Take away Street Sense, Curlin, Hard Spun, Any Given Saturday and Lawyer Ron out of the picture next year or at least three of the five, and u aren't left with a lot to beat in order for Nobiz to reach the upper levels of the handicap division. With so many spots around the country to ship and win big purses and grade ones, I would say that if they run Nobiz on the dirt next year, it's very easy to see him being one of the two or three leading older dirt males next year.

Like Theatrical and Cozzene?

Manila was a great racehorse but equally ungreat stallion...

They said he was getting run down pretty bad on dirt if I understood the article. I guess he has the ability on dirt but feels better showing in on turf. Would you say that's accurate? I never thought he'd become a dirt bum so I'm glad he's getting a chance somewhere else.

I should have said the 1st, which is way too low. The second, sure, I can buy a 104.
