I may be wrong but I think Tawana Brawley and the Duke liar were brought up because Jackson and Sharpeton ran to their defense based only on race and then they were proved to be liars. If they had been white girls J & S wouldn't have cared at all.
How does that make Nascar's post racist?

The original post was about a specific topic and Jackson's remarks about same...throwing Sharpton and Lewie into the mix is typical of the responses I read here and no...mentioning them doesn't make one a racist or their post racist BUT Tawana and Crystal have nothing to do with the topic, except for being black. Sure Sharpton bloodied his own nose with the Brawley mess but he was not part of the original subject himself until Nascar started throwing names of black folks around. What does "bleeding heart" have to do with anything? When did I call Nascar a racist? I was very careful to state that I don't know the individual and that it was the post not the person that I referred to as racist. Your oversimplification of the issue is interesting but not enough to keep me involved in a debate that, as usual, quickly deviates from the subject at hand to folk's tirades.

Tawana was a kid who, to escape being punished for her behavior, made up a wild story about unidentified cops...was it wrong? Of course...but how many million kids OF ALL RACES do the same thing? The difference there was that it snowballed and innocent folks once again were effected. Blame Al for responding before the facts were known and I accept the point but bring up some kid who told a lie in a thread about "political whores" and I just don't see the connection...EXCEPT SHE IS BLACK! This is racism no matter what defense is offered, and no number of snide, belittling or attack-oriented posts directed forthwidth toward me will change that!

Problem is that I never called anyone a racist, what I did say is that was a racist post. Seems like folks must be in a hurry...never take the time to read what I post, just jump in with tirades about what I don't "understand". Folks make racist remarks all the time, doesn't make them racist...I even repeated myself (god, how many times), I don't know Nascar and don't especially care to...and Nascar, that's not me saying "bad" things about you, it's simply a statement of fact...that post may or may not reflect a mindset. His subsequent (recent) posts seem to show much more depth so again...I'M NOT CALLING HIM A RACIST (maybe someone will notice if I use caps)! And round and round it goes....my problem was NEVER with you adding Al Sharpton to the Jackson link...even Louie fits in that they are all spokespersons for groups of folks. But why add Tawana Brawley and Crystal Mangum?? And please don't insult me by saying they are linked to Jackson and Sharpton...the context in which you mentioned them was NOT to add "evidence" against Jackson and Sharpton but to include them in your list of "political whores"...implying that Mangum might still be intoxicated etc. So from a conversation about one man (Jackson), you expanded the topic to include four other folks...all black!
