Got the 1,7 for a buck in pk4. Anyone see willpays?

Diamondrella would have helped the cause tremendously...

I have to ask... what did you make of the trip the top two finishers had. #5 Diamondrella seemed to be checking often. #4 West of Gibraltar was having traffic trouble as well.

REALLY? I thought Diamondrella had a PERFECT TRIP. I also thought that the 4 made a HUGE RUN to catch her. But both had nice setups as they were among the top 4 early. The race held very, very well considering the pace/moves in it.

But I really think that you might want to fire up the replay of the headon and see what happened to the 9, Cato Major at the gate. See if she had 4 lengths worth of trouble, which is essentially what she lost by.

Check out the chart.

I don't know about Diamondrella having a perfect trip. . . Maragh got her bottled up and had to check early on in the race. . . I DO know, however, that that photo costed me a significant amount of $. . .

watching live I noticed that the 5 Diamondrella (my big flat bet was on) was either forced to wait (jockey) or had to wait (traffic) to roll. There was someone causing her to stutter step a bit. The 4 was up then back then came again

I will have to watch the race replay after I get through my betting

It seems that quite a few people had their money down on this horse today, so I don't want to step on any toes here, as, I can identify with tough beats. And, I was reacting to getting hammered at the gate and losing all chance.

Diamondrella and West of Gibraltar are sucking along inside, going with the flow. They both have to steady/check behind/between, with Diamondrella getting the worst of it visually but WoG in terms of ground loss. However, taking back when they did was a good thing, as they didn't continue on directly with the pace. Look at the chart: anything running forwardly (gaining) between the first 2 splits went BACKWARDS at the end. So, if Diamondrella doesn't steady, she essentially makes the same run as Sophie's Salad (the same goes for WoG). If this were to happen, the race collapses and something from the rear wins. If they had 'trouble', it was fortuitous. Especially for WoG, as she took back more than Diamondrella and had enough to get her late.

My last word on the subject.

I'm sure you're a better trip watcher/capper than me so I guess I'll take your word for it. . . Still a terrible beat. . .

I take my earlier statement back about Coa's ride aboard. The tiring Hunsley Bunsley caused Coa and West of Gibraltar problems. As they turned for home, Coa had a split second to make a decision and he could off ducked inside or stayed where he was and waited for a seam to open. He made the right choice, a seam opened up and he had enough horse to get up for the win.

I would have agreed with all this from the start. Diamondrella checked briefly so as to not get engaged early, and she along with the winner had very good trips.

It was a lousy beat because she was 23-1 and lost by a head. If she was 3:1 it would have been one of those " how did she lose? " beats.
