Thanks to all (uh, most.. ) for the kind comments. I had no idea when I started to write Tuesday morning that I would wander through my decades-long affiliation with Saratoga... Appreciate the thoughtful responses.

Come Labor Day weekend sometime and then form your opinion. The crowds have thinned out, the weather has cooled, and the quality of racing then is as high as it is all meet. I'm pretty sure there isn't much better on Earth.
