I don't see why anyone should bother to keep a horse in training if this is how the public greets it.
If the mere thought of watching a horse run makes one gag, why bother to watch? He ran an okay 1:48.1 off a layoff. I've never seen anyone say he's the second coming of Secretariat. The horse is the Derby and Preakness winner. They brought him back. Yeah, to protect the shed value, so what? It's August and he's still running. Good! Made the race far more interesting. Geesh! Enjoy this race, enjoy the next prep race, enjoy the Classic and bet against him if you want!

Apparently no Winstrol this time either (if you believe IEAH)...He did what he had to do, nothing more, although he galloped out like he want a helluva a lot more... I'm thinking that was the last we see of him unfortunately...He's the class of the 3yo's no doubt and can look forward to the next generation of unsound speed types with bad feet

Eight Weeks Since Last Race, Bb Did Just Enough To Win Even Though Looked Rusty. Good Fractions And Pace By Coal Play,
This Race Was What Bb Needed. Watch Out All You Naysayers, I'll Take Some Side Bets If He Goes In Travers. Bb Is Back |

From Dutrow in the DRF:
Though the ultimate goal for Big Brown is the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita on Oct. 25, where Big Brown will run before then remains undecided. Dutrow said if it was up to him, the $1 million Travers at Saratoga on Aug. 23 wouldn’t be Big Brown’s next start. "I wouldn’t do it, because it looked like he put in one hell of a race today," Dutrow said. "To run him back so quickly, it might not be in his best interests." |

I think it is a little early to give up on BB yet, sure he had to dig hard and have the leader come back to him to get up, but it is plausible that he needed the race. However, you may remember that Curlin finished third in this spot last year and we all know where he went from there. That being said, right now Curlin would crush BB.

IEAH is likely to run Court Vision and maybe another horse in the Travers. That's because they aren't running Big Brown. I don't see why some people are giving him a pass because it was off a layoff. This is a horse that dominated his maiden race then won his second start off of a really long layoff so obviously, he can handle running well fresh. That 1:10 and change work before this race also signaled to me that fitness wasn't the issue here.
