It's ironic given his status as winter favorite for the Derby, that he's quickly become a near carbon copy of his older stablemate, Zanjero.

i read the other day that his next expected start is the indiana derby. i can't wait.

as for him running for a long time, won't happen. he's already got his stud career planned, that happened several months ago.

He's bad - but I wouldn't go as far as to say he's that bad just yet.

Guilty pleasure, but I still root for Pyro in every start, just wish he could finish first once in awhile.

Talking etaki breeders classic

pyro
tale of ekati
war pass
smooth air (ohhh bad taste)
gato malo
atoned
visionaire (gets a pass?)
hey byrn
z fortune

should square off in a 3yo mile stakes for decent milers advertised as classic distance horses. Run at 12 furlongs lolz

hold it at monmouth park and hide 300 XXL hanes/war pass t-shirts deep within the grandstand as a giveaway

Both have pulled in nearly $1,400,000. Not bad. They aren't great horses but they do win when the big money is on the line. Both have been very well placed.

I actually like Pyro too, but it does appear that the others have caught up to him. He's okay, not as good as some, including myself thought.
I just dont get this horse, his rep seems to be made up from 2 LD's races this spring and since he just has been super average. There are alot of Pyro's every year yet this one seems to get alot of press.

I think he was revisiting last winter, prior to the Blue Grass, when he was all the rage on here despite his low speed figures. Even still, he somehow went off favored (albeit lukewarm) in the Travers despite blah efforts in the Northern Dancer and Jim Dandy.

Cue King Glorious and his "pig" comment...

Shocker that you are the one causing it.

By the way....still waiting for Morty's call.

you know horses like the tin man didn't show what they could do until they were given a chance to mature.

the problem is more of a "what have you done lately" attitude throughout.

what about trying him on the turf?
