I was thinking the same thing. Another great example of why some of us get annoyed with some of the recent horses anointed with greatness.

In watching that replay, the announcer called H and G the highweight. How was the kings bishop weighted back then and when did they change to equal weights?

if i never cashed on him, he'd still be a monster.... Gary Stevens, who i look at as a top 5 all time Jockey, says Rock Hard Ten is the best horse he ever sat on.

Here's one to feel good about.. I just uploaded his maiden race.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POe1OnbgNIg

It's amazing he held his form for as long as he did in 1996, he danced just about every dance possible that year...

By the way, that race with H&G, DH and EQ, someone commented on Youtube that the 2nd and 3rd place finishers each sired a derby winner, and that H&G's best shot at one died.

Any idea who that might be?

Yeah you're right. I actually forgot about him in the KingBish that year. For some reason, I only really remember him on the Belmont turf in '98.

And while we are in the business of deconstructing the theroy I was trumpeting earlier, we could mention that Smile was a multiple-stakes winner at age 2. So basically, I might just be completely wrong.

Have you forgotten that this kid once proclaimed that Favorite Trick was "hands down" the greatest 2yo of all time, and that Jazil was the most overrated horse in history?
He is hopeless.
