All his system did was make retards able to read a racing form, if that is making someone "elite" then yes you are correct.

This begs the obvious question.......how were you able to read the Form before the inclusion of the Beyer figures?

I have never been able to read the form.. I prefer betting on fixed races. The take out and trip work just doesn't seem to matter when you know CC lopez is going to be left at the gate.

I think he's more than proven that his opinion is worth listening to. I think there are several members of this board that have opinions that are worth listening to more than others as well. Even when I disagree with them. Blackthroatedwind, for example, is one who's opinions I place a lot of value in, even if he thinks I'm being disingenuous when I say that.

What kind of self-respecting inveterate self-aggrandizer would I be if I failed to mention I had that exacta too? I had the pick three as well (on the threads, I have my selections up there). But since I didn't bet the races out of fear of synthetics, I made nothing. So I'll settle for third best. Congrats to you though.

Damn synthetics. I just didn't feel comfortable playing all of those first timers on a new surface. I'll know next year to play only horses that have run well on synthetic or grass in the pass and toss just about every horse that has won only on dirt. All 16 of the horses that made up the exactas in the main track races had either won on synthetics or turf.

At least no one was called an invertebrate self-aggrandizer.

PICTURES, or course. But those big bold numbers really make it easy to pick the 3-5 shots every race!!

I don't know if he is the best handicapper out there, but no handicapper has contributed more to the sport than him. His books are the only must reads in the business, although I like to read all of them. I bet he has brought more people into the sport than anyone out there.

He was an innovator, which separates him from the pack.

Default give Serling credit as well ["synthetic turf"]

Beyer quote from page 6 of Saturday's BC DRF:

"Andy Serling, in-house racing analyst for the New York Racing Association, declares: 'The synthetic tracks are more like synthetic turf courses than dirt courses. They should paint them all green.'"

There have been a LOT of people saying that same thing since 2006.
