![]() Scav -
I'm all in favor of the efficient use of resources. Now my question: Are they resources to fight the terrorists, which would be better served by Option A, or Are they resources to fight fires, emergency medical personnel, bury the dead, replace the destroyed world trade center, which would allow for Option B since we won't allow ourselves to detect the attack before it happens? |

![]() It might have helped -- the news did say at the time (9/11) that there was a lot of cell phone traffic related to the attack, and that was the rationale for creating the Department of Homeland Security later on. They found call logs indicating a lot of coordination, though they had not listened to the calls themselves.
To your point - infiltrating them -- yes -- by all means -- do everything to stop any future like occurrence and loss of life. But listen in on them too. Interesting responses by most here -- sorry some did not like the title -- I didn't dwell on it and wanted to put something other than "McCain's Great" or "Obama's not qualified". I figured that horseplayers are among the smartest among us, so I thought I'd stir the pot a little... |

![]() I should clarify -- the lack of interagency cooperation was the rational for creating DHS -- not the calls themselves.
