On a semi related note - if your using him, I absolutely must and will find a way to use my boy Bernie in the 7th. Changes to come after scratches

WTF did he just say???

Ok...after a long deliberation, I have made up my mind. It's worth it to get there early

Kev - are you making anything out of Centeno jumping from Dale Bennett to ride the Pyrite horse in the 9th? Bennett/Centeno 34% so far the meet and has been the guy for him - in fact is on Repenting in the race prior. And he's done well with Dee's Rose here... Seems more and more strange the longer I look at it...

I can't figure it out either Dan. Especially since Dee's Rose is proven over the surface

Hope we get a fair number of scratches so I can include - Pyriteville could maybe get it done, but not a horse I would use on it's merits alone - somethin' fishy

Miguel having only 1 winner at the meet this far is keeping me from using.

Mike pointed it out to me, I'm sure you know, but the majority of his stock is the Pyrite stable horses that are privately bred Ohio breds which, while serviceable at Thistley and River Downs, don't always match up well here.

This is a good example.

Yeah....Ohio and horses from Da Mountain have not been running well at all this meet.

It's okay. They still pay out win money for the horse that crosses the wire first. Let's just say I'll be fairly deep in the early P3.

Happy New Years

This is a good example.
He usually gets them going later in the meet, but usually at lower levels. His win percentage will be okay by the end of the meet.

I'm still at work and have a dentist appt. later, so I won't be seeing much of the races.

Didn't say I wouldn't wager though.

Easy to be safe if you don't leave the house. Our main attraction tonight is the kids trying to stay up until midnight. Last year they made it to 10pm.

Good luck.

A change in plans has me working from the ponderosa today - on call this evening and tomorrow so if I get into anything tonight it'll be with some friends down the street - no driving for me

No such luck - We lose the Lerman horse in the night cap - that's it

Just to let you guys know, I live about 15 minutes from Running Aces and was out there over the weekend and met Dan. He's a nice kid who tries to help the players that come to bet there. For those of you that don't know, Running Aces is a half mile harness track and card club that opened last spring. It is about a twenty minute drive north of downtown Minneapolis on I-35. My take, from the few times I have been there, is that many of the people in there are brand new to betting on horses. From what I have seen, he tries to help the players cash a few tickes so they will return to play again. I hope the place doesn't go under in the current economy, because I am about a one hour drive from Canterbury, and in the winter if the roads are bad, that can easily stretch into two or more hours. Happy New Year and good racing to all

The 10 La Faye would have been a whale of a claim for 12.5. She'll go 6F next out in MSW if they still have her.

FWIW, that Pyriteville ran a huge race on the sheets three back. If she runs back, she crushes 'em. I'm staying away from that race though, since I could justify going five different ways in a six-horse field. I do like Wynn's horse in the finale though with Sadiesday and Gallant Bid.

Couple of small wagers to finish the year:

R6:

$6 Pick 3
8 / 7 / 8

$3 Pick 3
8 / 7 / 3,7

$1 Pick 3
2,6 / 7 / 3,7,8
