Ok let me rephrase, they have never been a serious playoff team with a prayer of winning let alone reaching the Super bowl in my lifetime.

Barry's lines were underrated. He had two Pro Bowl caliber lineman almost every year in Lomas Brown (7 Pro Bowls) and Kevin Glover (3 Pro Bowls). The whole idea that Barry's lines weren't good comes about because he had so many runs for negative yards but that wasn't because of the lines, it was cause of his style of running. The Cowboys line was amazing but wouldn't have made Sanders much better. Any Emmitt style runner though would have significantly improved behind the Dallas line.

I agree with everything you said. I try to tell the same stuff to my friend who refuses to acknowledge the difference between north-south runners as opposed to shimmy-shakers like Barry. I admit to him that the holes Emmitt saw were much bigger than the ones Barry had, and to him that's the end of the discussion. Its more complicated than that, but to him its not. My buddy ALWAYS brings up the plays when Barry faked Rod Woodson out of his kneecap, the TD with one cleat on, and the one when he was practially out of bounds, when he stepped back, had the Vikings defenders attempt to tackle him (which weren't even close), and broke a good one.

I wasn't a big Emmitt fan, as I wasnt allowed to be, but that didnt stop me from marveling at his greatness. IMO, he was the best RB of my generation.

PS. Sorry for the threadjacking.

Right. Some teams just have a losing culture. The Lions are one of them. The Bengals are another. The Clippers in the NBA. Don't let a successful season or two make you believe otherwise. Millen may be gone but the owner is still there.

I'm not at all convinced that Sam Bradford will be a good NFL quarterback. He is accurate and has certainly put up big numbers, but he has the best O-Line in the country in front of him, a host of talented skill players around him, and plays in an offense-oriented league.

I just don't think he has the overall skill-set of somebody like Matt Ryan. He reminds me more of John Beck.

none of the pass happy qbs from ou are in the nfl or any of spurrier's fun-n-gun qbs. not even june jones' hawaii qbs have done anything in the big show.

Cant compare Bradford and those other guys. Bradford is big, accurate and has a gun. He is a real prospect.

My amateur football scouting ability tells me he is far superior to those other guys, at least from what I have seen.

As much as I hate the Republic of Georgia ... Stafford will probably be the #1 pick taken.

He's as big and accurate and has a much better gun. Bradford has a supposedly O-line for the ages blocking for him ... and plays in a pinball confrence loaded with suspect pass defenses.

Stafford and Bradford came from the same highschool class ... one was ranked 2 overall and the other 17th. ... which tells me Stafford will probably have the better combine.

He's going to be a Delaware Blue Hen. Taking after the Ravens rookie I guess.

Negative trainer switch but has to love the drop in class.

  • #1 Mustain transfered to USC, probably never see the field.
  • #6 Snead transfered to Ole Miss and had Great year!
  • #7 Locker plays his guts out for a BAD Wash. program

Are you talking about Chase Daniel from Mizzou?
As a Mizzou alum, and a person that has watched all of their games the last two years, I have to disagree with you there. Chase is accurate, but he puts absolutely no zip on the ball whatsoever. He has virtually no arm strength, and therefore I doubt he will have anything approaching a significant NFL career.

You are right about that, but I just haven't been impressed with Bradford when he doesn't have all day to throw. When he has to move at all in the pocket, or has a guy in his face, he seems to struggle. Of course all quarterbacks do worse in those situations, but he seems to struggle more than others.
