All kidding aside, I think both teams have a big shot of getting to the big game this year. It still amazes me that the Birds let the Cards march right down the field in the NFC title game (but I would be lying if I didn't say I was happy about it.) People want to bash D Mac, but he did enough to get his team to the dance last year, it was the vaunted defense who s.hit the bed.

Going into that game, if you would've told me that the O would score 25 and we still lose, I wouldve sent you on a psychiatrist hunt. The D was outplayed and outschemed in the first half, and downright embarrased on the Cards' game-winning drive. But in many eyes, that is somehow DMac's fault. Don only takes the heat because he's the captain of the ship. Forgot to thank you for sparing me on the rings, and agreed on this years assessment of our team's chances. I really can't wait until we square off. |

![]() Exactly, MaTH716
Coughlin and Manning got the job done in what ... their third or fourth season together. Reid and McNabb have come up empty in TEN tries now ... and these so-called Birds 'fans' like declansharbor seem more than willing to give them another decade. Unbelievable… |

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think D Mac is an absolute warrior. He plays hard, to win every week and until now he hasn't had the weapons to throw to. The one year he had a reciever (T.O.) they went to the Super Bowl. I also think Andy Reid gets a bit conservitive in big games. They both have had tremendous runs in Philly and should be applauded. But now there are no more of excuses, they need to win now. It's not acceptable to be a bridemaid anymore, it's time to be the bride. But unfortunately for them they play in maybe the most competitive division in the leauge. It will definately be exciting and when the smoke clears there is a good chance that one of the two teams is there representing the NFC. Hopefully it's the team in Blue and I'm not talking about the Cowgirls. ![]()

and weighs as much as two trucks got drafted in the top 5. What did he show at the combines? Its the upside. Nicks has better than average speed for his size, and his speed will improve when he loses weight. He can go up and catch balls in traffic. The trend is towards larger receivers as CB's get smaller and faster. If they try putting a safety on him he is strong enough to get off the line. I see nothing wrong with the pick at all. They wanted a Burress type. The got the body type that can develop into one. Who were you looking for? |

Where on God's green earth did I type the bolded? Did you ever watch the kid play, ever? He played with a poor QB on a team that relied on D and running. Nicks was the one guy on the team that made a difference. There are a lot of tall guys that are not strong enough to go get the ball in the air. Nicks is very strong, I dont care what he is listed at. I watched him go up between people on very poorly thrown balls and jump while off balance and catch the ball while getting punished. Who did you want? And I am not a Giants fan either, the kid can play. How can you say he its a bad pick unless you got someone better. If he develops, he will be a very good receiver. Its not fair to compare him to guys like Crabtree and Macklin. They constantly had plays run for them. They were on teams that put the ball in the air every play. Nicks forced NC to throw the ball his way because they could not do much else, especially later in the season. I did not say he is Plexiglass, they want someone more like him. Who else were you going in this draft to fit that bill? Giants had a good year off. They got Canty, their D is set. They did a good job in the offseason imo. They should win the East, they improved their team considering that Plexiglass was done with them. |

He was already considered a top reciever. And comparing and equating are two very diff. things. A comparison does not mean equality. Stop with the weaseling. The Giants made a good pick with the receivers that were left. If you have another, present please. Please give me the rules about following up assessments (butting in a thread that was off limits) in the moderator's handbook and I will attempt to follow the mandates. |
