How much did you pay the rich when the oil companies charged 40 or 50 cents profit on every gallon of $4.50 gas?.... A lot. Oil companies were making 10 bil a quarter year, and what did Conservatives do to help out the Middle there? Nothing. They could of opened it up for competition(by getting rid of that monopoly), or charging them (so 5 bil of the 10 bil could go for paying for that Iraq thing.) That's a choice they made(to simply do nothing when oil companies were rippin' off the poor and the middle.) Now they have to wait for the Dems to screw up, and they will. Wouldn't have to wait like that if they cared more about the middle. The middle class guy who think's he's taxed too much (and not using any services) will turn back to the Conservatives for tax cuts, and cuts in spending. What will happen is always the same though (whetever you think you save in taxes will simply be shifted to the rich, because Conservatives always allow big business to gouge the middle.) The smarter the electorate, the more often they will understand this. The biggest point Conservatives have over the Dems is immigration. Totally retarded to even talk about any type of National Healthcare structure when you don't want to do what most every other country does (control the number of people immigrating to your country.) There is nothing wrong with sending people back when they break the law. There is nothing wrong with Electrifying a fence to keep law breakers out of your country.

i don't disagree with this , but the dems favor the rich as well over the middle class

Wha-wha-what???? You lost me there. If you say the dems favor the manipulative poor I could buy it. But the dems favor the rich in the same thread that you are complaining Golisano is leaving NY has to be one of the most ironic statements of all time.

The Oil Companies made lots, but at least they did something for the money. Drill, ship, store, pump. How much money did N.Y. suck up in gas taxes and oil taxes without doing anything but count money? I'd be willing to bet it was a pretty good chunk of change. I think our State Govt. is more evil than the oil companies. Gas goes up I have less money to do everything.

The problem with New York politics is that all decisions are made in private by 3 men in a room. For a long time those 3 men were 2 republicans and a democrat now its 3 democrats. One has been no better then the other. The only agenda they serve is there own.
