If they in fact N Korea crossed the border and kidnapped them I think the cameraman and guide who escaped would be doing daily stories from the place they were taken from. Also I don't think China and NKorea have a 'open border policy' where troops from either side can cross but I could be wrong. And then to know they worked for Al Gore's company? Hopefully he gets charged for any costs the US will incure to secure their release.
there is a very real possibility that the girls were dragged across the border by north korean guards which would make this a kidnapping. it wouldn't be the first time. and to suggest that the u.s. shouldn't attempt release for these two becasue they worked for al gore is laughable. as for the ones who escaped, yeah i'm sure they'd stay in that spot to run stories. you're forgetting that china and north korea are allies, no way china says anything about two americans getting taken. just because china has favored nation status trade-wise doesn't mean they have any love for americans.

it's funny for 8 years no one was taken from the other side of the board , yet we are 5 months in to a new administration , Kim wants to see if the new sheriff has any bullets in his gun !

whether they were kidnapped or were trespassing the bottom line is the phone is now riniging at 3AM and a decision has to be mad , surely no one here thinks they are going to the prison camps ..... the question is how do we get out of this by giving up the least as possible?

I didn't say that. I said we (The U.S.) should be reimbursed for the money it will cost to get them out. The same way a skier who decides to ski down a closed area is expected to reimburse emergency services called to rescue his dumb a $$.

think the response to that was a little tougher than sending Al Gore but maybe being in a room with him is harsher than water boarding?

this is actually a rather common occurrence with north korea. and i'm not quite sure why the comment 'they aren't going to a prison camp' keeps getting made-it's not as tho they're living the high life at a resort.

Time has featured Obama on its cover 14 times since Jan. 1. Newsweek was close behind, featuring the now-president-elect on 12 of its issues. Time has had 52 issues in 2008, so Obama has been featured on more than one-in-four of its covers, or about 27% of the time.

That number, though, goes even higher if you include how many times Obama has appeared in the "skybox" -- 11 times.

That means Obama's face or name has somehow made it onto the cover of Time just about half of the time this year (25 out of 52 issues -- 48%)

Sorry but it appears TIME has a less than 'fair and balanced' approach when dealing with Obama.

why don't the families come out and say it was a kidnapping? If in fact we do find it was DELTA Force should handle it not the inventor of the internet.

i wonder if those numbers are similar to the very beginning of every other presidents four years? or if it's just new presidents simultaneously fighting two inherited wars and a worldwide recession.
or maybe, like you suggested, it's a big obama love-fest. what all that has to do with a story about kidnappings perpetrated by north korea i don't know.

Dont forget that Ling's sister Lisa snuck into North Korea under the premise of being a eye doctors aid . She filmed some pretty wild stuff and Im sure the people in charge were not happy with it , so it wouldnt suprise me if they took the little sister to make a statement.

With all the unwanted dogs that are killed here each day, it would seem that we could give them a couple tons of dog meat for the 2 girls release.

Im sure the slaves in the "work" camps would be glad to have it. They had a former guard who escaped on Dateline , he said he saw children fighting over a kernel of corn that was in a pile of cow crap because they were so hungry.

Obama will just express his disapointment and send them a sternly written letter.

America has no hope so long as Cannon Shell is not in office.

It wasn't intentional and I didn't know until after...the host was so proud as up North it is a real delicacy and an honor to be served it. Not cool...

what makes an acceptable protein has everything to do with the culture you grew up in and nothing else.

pigs and cows are culturally accepted foods here but would horrify a good portion of the world if presented on a plate. meanwhile, we judge those that eat "pets".

outside of dell chowing down the occasional liberal reporter that accidently wandered into his yard, i try not to judge.
