Dumb question - what was up with Da'Tara?

Wow, CCM drove off and left them in the dust

The better question is what was up with that ridiculous call by Durkin? Could he have spent any more time telling us what a bad race Da Tara ran? Could he have sounded more dejected or shocked that Da Tara ran another horrible race? Its not like much was expected of this part of the entry anyways and doesnt Tom know that he still collects his bet because the other half of the entry blew the field away?

Man, you would have though that was Rachael Alexandra putting in such a shockingly bad effort.

It could be that TD holds the Belmont in high regard and thus could not possibly fathom such a pitifully slow horse winning it and looking like a 5k claimer at Evangeline only 14 months later.

But isnt it sort of common knowledge based on just about every one of his races since (and there are many), combined with Big Brown going amiss that day...that Da Tara was arguably the biggest TC race winner fluke ever?
Its not like hes won or been close to winning anything of remote signifigance since.

I think it can be said Da Tara was the worst modern day triple crown race winner, I would take him over commendable.
