Based on its play (or lack of) the past two weekends, it appears that USC has dropped football. Losing is one thing, but getting thumped on two consecutive weeks is usually left to the directional schools.

Actually, USC beat ASU last weekend but they were thumped the week before at Oregon.

Interesting how both were close into the third quarter.

Pete Carroll has to be the most whining coach in NCAA Football history.

hmm, i'd have to pick nebraska to win that one...

usc a victim of their own successes, and some injuries early on to key players. between assistants leaving and players getting lost for the year, i figured they'd be down this year. but, no doubt they'll be pre-ranked highly next year, as usual.

I guess you think nebraska is good because they only lost to texas by a point? AZ plays the same style offense of the one team to wipe nebraska out (texas tech) at home no less. AZ has also been playing without its best player for most of the 2nd half of the year and he will be back for the bowl. AZ by 10+

Arizona is a victim of their own non - success IMO. They lost 3 very very close games which they SHOULD have won (2 of the games they outplayed the opponant.. the Oregon & Washington games). They win those 3 and they are 11 -1 and Rose bowl bound.

Washington loss was the biggest fluke ever. all you need is one first down to win and the ball bounces OFF the WR's FOOT into Washington CB hands and they run for a pick 6 and the win. Still debatable whether that ball hit the ground but it doesnt matter now.

Against Cal they were down by 2 with a minute or two remaining.. and got in field goal range (they have a pretty good kicker also). Stupid play where the QB threw a pass that got batted back, he caught the ball and reacted by throwing again (stupid move but forgivable since he was so good for us this year). Penalty takes us out of FG range and we dont convert the 4th down.

Then of course Oregon where we outplayed them but let them hang in there.. they get a TD with 4 seconds left and win in double OT. My excuse for that is Arizona is a team used to losing, not winning... the more we win the more often we wont make those mistakes and will win the close ones. (that and the AZ fans rushing the field before it was over totally jinxed us and we deserved to lose cause of that) It really hurt though cause just winning that Oregon game would have taken us to the Rose Bowl.

The Nebraska game will be close. Two very good defenses (Nebraska D is better but AZ D is ranked like 20th in the nation so not bad themselves). AZ offense is MUCH better than Nebraska offense. Also I would bet big bucks AZ offensive line will outplay Texas's O-Line. We really miss our allstar TE who's missed the whole season. Anyone would miss a Tight End who's 6'6" and 265.. but he would have made a huge difference in this game. We wont be getting him back but we will be getting our RB back ,Grigsby, who was in the Heisman talk until he got injured.

We also have the #1 return man in the country, so that will help get yardage and we'll need all the help we can against Nebraska.

AZ is gonna win this game. (knock on wood) I'd bet them whether they are the favorite or not. I'm biased but this program is turning around and we have a real good football team.

Enjoy that fluky result while you can, Antichrist32

Probly won't happen for another hundred years or so

Even the great programs have an off season every now and then

Hell, I think the stegosaurus was still romping around the country the last time Bama played for a national title.
