Only when I used to run out of ink (forget to buy a cartridge.) It's not for me. If it was anywhere near the same, then I wouldn't waste the paper. I don't know the science behind it, but I just don't like reading it off the screen.

print entries in huge print 16-18 font size and use form and anything else to make notes. 2-3 pages / track as 25-35 and way less ink.

Do you really need to print it? I usually read it off the screen but if you need to mark and highlight then invest in Adobe Pro. Not sure how much it is as I get it on my work laptop.

If I am out of town, I sometimes go into a hotel and print it out in thier buisness center even I am not staying in that particualr hotel. One time I did that and the printer ran out of paper but went to the front desk to get some more, and the person handed me a bundle and never asked me if I am a guest at the hotel.
Hey it works.

It definitely takes some getting used to; I feel a lot more comfortable doing it now than I did 2-3 years ago.
I don't know if there is a science behind it...it just takes practice.

I still will not go to the track with out printing off the PP's, even though Ky Downs allows laptops.

I think it's like a security blanket.

The other thing is, if I'm going to a track that sells the Form I have to buy it.

It's usually less expensive to buy a brand new laser printer than it is to replace the toner.

I'm going to have to test the read it on the screen deal today. I brought my work computer to the in-laws and don't have my printer. Heaven forbid I start cranking out a hundred or so pages on my father in-law's printer....

This is the refill kits I use. I think I pay $14 for a refill that's 50% more than a cartridge replacement ($45).

You don't even have to print the 1st three or four races at Hollywood. That is garbage (5-6 horses/race.) People make fun of union people? How about not paying the connections for just beating 4 horses? I'm starting with the 5th (Generous Stakes) at Hwd Saturday.

I would just buy an extremely small laptop and take it with you to the track.

I just tried draft mode on my HP printer. There is not much difference in quality from normal mode and the pages come out much quicker. Thanks for the tip.
