I think he's the most likely winner, but Get Stormy can beat him. Not sure what to do w/ the Cat off the long layoff.

Im using the 2 of them, equally. Tossing Gio.

Maybe Gio Ponti won't win, and I'm not crazy about the race in general. But he was awfully good at a mile last year and I like cutbacks like this. There's enough speed in there for him. I wonder how the race will be bet.

It's also ridiculous to call him a grinder. The Fat Man can say that he won the Kilroe last year because Gomez s.hit the bed on Ventura, and that has some credibility but GP was excellent that day. The races he ran in the Man O War and Arl Million with quick 2-3 furlong bursts are ideal for the cutback. He's not running 11-12 furlongs simply because he's not a grinder. Can he beat Goldikova and other milers? Who knows but he should win tomorrow.

I'm hoping Gio finds some trouble and runs 3rd, making him a square price in the BC. I like him much better as a miler than at 1 1/2. There's always going to be plenty of pace in the BC Mile.

I was talking this over with someone who has a better handle on the bloodstock side of things, and he brought up a good point. The only race that Gio can run in that will enhance his stud fee is the classic. If he were to run 3rd or something it would probably add like $5K to his fee.

Ya. . . it's pretty obvious. But isn't their top choice right now the mile? Seems like a waste.

Isn't Castleton Lyons likely to stand Gio Ponti themselves? They don't exactly have a band of signature stallions right now, though Bernstein hasn't been awful.
If they are standing him then they might just want to run him where he can win. At least they'd have a fighting chance in the Mile, the Classic...not so much. I mean, that's unless he becomes Christophe Clement's best dirt horse since Dynever. |

Why wouldn't they care about the fee if they were the ones standing him?

any shot wasted tears gets loose tomorrow and never looks back
footing has to be firm which is an advantage for her too and she ships well i like proviso that toga race showed grit but maybe wasted is an EV+ play |

Very unlikely. 1,4,5,6,9 all have speed. The 1 likes to run off sometimes. Im not even sure WT can make the early lead. The 4 is tactical enough, really does not need the lead. She is the other one Im using with Proviso.

I really hope this is finally the day Proviso goes down in flames.

Of all days, why would this be the day? SHe is the only filly to defeat boys in a Grade 1 this year in America. What has she done wrong?

She's slow. She won one of the weakest Kilroes I've ever seen and has benefited from a pitiful group of turf fillies. Ave won the Flower Bowl FFS.

At least shes consistent, no? Of all of her big Grade 1's this year, she gets far and away the best on paper setup today.

Ok Jose... But you will defend other horses to the death, even the ones who get beat all the time, but because they can run 104 beyers? Proviso is the goods, ONLY WAY SHE GETS BEAT TODAY IS WITH A BAD TRIP FROM MIKE. What was wrong with her Spinster? BC Ladies Classic? Even her G1 sprint race? Where is her bad or off day? Im really not seeing her bad race? Tell me where its at, and why you would say you hope todays the day she gets beat? The truth is, every single race she has been in, on turf, has been a slow paced race. If anything she has been totally up against it in her last 3 races, all G1's one vs males.
