I don't delve into this arena often, but this most recent incident of Limbaugh's is so patently offensive that it's hard not to comment. A defense of his pathetic Sino-belittling by invoking Sid Caesar's comedy from nearly 60 years ago is beyond sad, and defines how out of touch this douchebag is with modern society and common respect. Imagine in this era if he or anyone else invoked hackneyed, racist Jolson-esque blackface or pickaninny-style Minstrelsy. That mentality is only about 40 years older than Caesar's act, so I suppose it could find it's way into Limbaugh's repertoire yet. That he tries to paint critics of his infantile behavior as being 'leftist' is just laughable. Here's a telegram putz: Anyone with an education or who was brought up in a home where you were taught to respect cultures foreign to one's own, finds you disgusting. Additionally, they're aghast that you would do anything other than apologize for behavior which helps perpetuate the poor image the world has of Americans in general. "Back in the old days, Sid Caesar, for those of you old enough to remember, was called a comic genius for impersonating foreign languages that he couldn't speak," Limbaugh said. "But today the left says that was racism; it was bigotry; it was insulting. And it wasn't. It was a service." ![]() ![]() ![]()
