Zenyatta, the 2010 Horse of the Year, is no longer in foal and will be bred to Benardini again next week, according to Mike Cline, the manager of Lane’s End Farm, where the 7-year-old mare in boarded.
“She came up empty on a 35-day preg check today,” Cline said. “It’s not uncommon. It’s unfortunate, but she’s healthy, she’s doing great, and we expect her to get back in foal.”

had to be rock hard ten.. that is his spelling. The funniest one I saw was some lady telling Zenyatta to go on a vacation to forget about it with some of her girl horse friends. and when she gets back it will be much easier to get pregnant.

Zenny—————-no worries. I had my daughter late in life and my inners were so rusty she came out with red hair. All things are meant to be. xxoo you gal pal, Is there a chance she could be bred again this year? Or will they have to wait for next year? I’ve read about breeding, but now I can’t remember what I learned. Sad to hear, though. Disappointing.. Uncle Mo's hitting on her, Gio Ponti is just pissed that she ruined his life and is still in training, why oh why does Bernadini have nothing to say...I'm upset...

I understand why folks tend to find this humorous but people have always given animals human qualities (how many folks here talk to their dog or cat?). While it may sound silly I think in the long run it's good for racing, these folks fell in love with Zenyatta and this brought them into the fold of racing fans and we all know racing needs as many fans as possible, even those who aren't rabid handicappers.
