This race makes more sense than some of the other newer additions.

It's like a last hurrah for some exciting 2yos that won't amount to much past this point.

Like the runnerup to Uncle Mo in last years BCJ.

But this a turf sprint?

It really is a Jersey thing, cause I thought I saw turf somewhere too.

This doesnt come close to their worst decision. I like the idea, but let's hope tht this isnt the beginning of some other bright new ideas. Count me as a fan of the one-day event.

This will be a nice prep race for the Delta Jackpot.

So now, a full one third of the Breeder's Cup races are restricted to two year olds.

Forget Lady's Day. We could now have Juvenile Day instead.

Almost every day seems to be April 1 with the Breeders Cup these days. Next thing you know, they'll be announcing that the Cup will be held at Del Mar over a synthetic surface.

Since they added all the non-essential races, which cannibalize the "traditional" Breeders' Cup races, there have been record numbers of entries, but not full fields (meaning 14 horses in this format).

I'm waiting for the turf sprint steeplechase.
5 1/2 furlongs on the grass with one jump

Why they just ban Lasix for the race?

The foreign horses will be lined up to run, the "transparency" and "integrity" will lead to a more confident public betting hundreds of millions on it and the Germans will feel free to breed to the winner. Only the "real" trainers will be able to run with out "doping" their horses and those scum, the vets won't be making a mint with all those $25 Lasix shots.

The Game is saved!!!!

The BC Mares In Foal. About seven furlongs, half polytrack, half turf.

I agree totally. I also have a feeling that this is going to be a more popular race for trainers. I've long wished that there was no 2yo racing beyond 6f anyway and I think that having them race shorter instead of pushing them to run further than they are ready for that early in their careers will be better in the long run. At least I hope so because I'm tired of seeing half the crop broken down by the summer every year.
