You're right. I'm surprised it took somebody this long to notice.

Indeed, we are a critical bunch here.

Being that far behind a slow pace set her up to fail. Summer Soiree was even worse.

SS had completely no excuse whatsoever under a dream ride, and getting beat by a filly coming in off of a pretty taxing account of herself a week earlier really makes you wonder about both of them. It isn't like either one of them were dramatically disadvantaged by the way the race played out and both looked very average |

First, that was not a slow pace for that distance and final time. The best running took place from the half to the 6f.
Second, the winner was only a few lengths in front of Winter Memories early, 3 1/2, and gained another two lengths to the finish. She couldn't even catch the 3rd place finisher, a horse that was 7th to her 8th at the first call. In a race where the winner and 3rd place finisher were 6th and 7th early, I find it hard to use pace as an excuse for the horse that was 8th early. |

You know I've been saying that since before the BC Juvy F Turf last year.

But, it's kind of hard to pat yourself on the back for that opinion considering what she did in between the Miss Grillo and QEII.
