I really thought Lee would start the second half.

Although I was pulling hard for LSU, Bama was tough tonight - maybe one of the best collegiate defensive performances that I've ever seen. Auburn needs to start practicing tomorrow.

I agree, I dont know if you watched the Army all star game Saturday, but our prized recruit Kiel threw a pick. I said to the guy I work with, "Les is trying to figure out how to annul that commitment."

at least you have baseball.

i'm moving on to volleyball. my school dropped division 2 football after i graduated.

i'm just saying things could be worse than rooting for a team that just played for the national championship.

I knew Lee wasn't coming in. Jefferson has pictures of Les with sheep.

Let me ask you something, if there was an 8 team playoff, do you think LSU and Bama would be in it? I do.

If both teams are in the playoff, that you think will fix the issue, what happens when they play a second time and Bama wins? Whether its the first round or the final, it will happen where team will have to play another twice. Even in a playoff. So, you need to scrap that one as an argument for a playoff.

I would love to see a playoff too, but using the teams shouldn't have to beat teams twice argument is not the way to go.

lee hasn't played in weeks. with rumors swirling about his eligibility, i have to think he couldn't play. that they let him dress-but weren't going to put him in if it would end up costing the program.

it's too bad that such a great season ended like that. interesting the piling on of les after taking lsu through their best regular season ever. every week he was the mad hatter, not he's crap? yeah, whatever.

Here? The piling on Les from this board has been going on for years. There has been zero flip-flopping from Dagolfer on the Les topic.

oh i know, i just know that people down here gripe about les when he's winning- i can only imagine them now!
as for needing a playoff system-if the same two teams would have been produced, what's the point? most of the time (and some would argue, all the time) the two best teams play for the title.
note-to those who want a playoff system-it's called the nfl.

i worry about changing the bcs system about as much as i worry about whether we are going to win or lose. i have no control over either. enjoy the wins, shrug off the losses. as fans we can do nothing else. many take it far too seriously. it's not life or death, it's entertainment-well, unless you get scorched.

and it would fill the gap. Players were pretty rusty in most of the bowl games.

I was at that game in '93 vs Miami. That was quite a scene (from what I can remember ).

Absolutely right. There is always some pretty piss poor football played in the bowl games. These players are used to a schedule for 13-14 weeks and all of the sudden they have a month+ off. Some handle it better than others, but I have to believe the games would be better without the layoff.

If there was a playoff Lsu would have been the #1 seed and Alabama would have been the #2 seed. Guess what, they would have ended up in the same place, with LSU getting their teeth kicked in for the National Championship.
