Default Union Rags?

Reasons to like Union Rags...
1. Loves the Belmont strip
2. Best race is the stalking and pounce late - perfect for 1 1/2 miles.
3. Has shown ability to win with trouble.
4. Fresh and prepared by one of the best trainers in spotting a horse.
5. May get Johnny V who rides Belmont course well.
Questions which could go against betting Union Rags...
1. Has he improved over last year?
2. Is he a horse who gets himself in trouble?
3. Will he be bet too much as the alternative horse?
4. Is I'll Have Another just getting better and better and a faster horse?
I love Union Rags for the Belmont, but must admit I have been surprised by the ability of I'll Have Another, especially how he caught Bode in the Preakness. In the end though, hoping the public jumps all over IHA and inflates the price of Union Rags enough to bet (thinking about it at 4-1 but 5-1+ is what really needed for a logical bet).

1. Silly
2. OK, but his ped hardly screams 1 1/2 miles
3. Overrated trouble
4. Based on what?
5. I imagine whomever rides him will be a top jockey

Union Rags has regressed with each subsequent start this year... not a coincidence that his figures also get lower with each increase in distance he travels. These two glaring negatives mean he will be no where near the finish line of the Belmont when the race is being decided.

This is a horse who developed faster than his counterparts last year, and was visually impressive in his BC effort. So far this year he has not matched the improvement that the competition has enjoyed.

The big ? is does Leparoux get back aboard and just (if any) how much does getting him off there improve this horses chances?

Will he get bet in the Belmont, I hope so, will he be on my tickets, only in 3rd/4th holes of tri's/super's....

" 2. Best race is the stalking and pounce late - perfect for 1 1/2 miles."

So....is this tactic true for the Belmont? One would think it would be but is it in actuality? I thought that more horses have won the Belmont on the front end, not stalking. I don't know, I'm asking.

I think his biggest problem will be the distance. That said if he goes that far (if any of them do) he has to be a legit threat to I'll have another coming off those 2 huge efforts.

I think I'll have another is clearly better than anything that will be in the Belmont, but so was Spectacular Bid. There is a reason it's been so long between Triple Crown winners and I think we will see another horse come up short

call me when Union Rags finds the finish line first in any race beyond 8 1/2 furlongs. Otherwise we can start up a miler's thread somewhere.

I guess since Da'Tara won the Belmont ,anything is possible. Maybe it'll rain and challenge I'll Have Another's ability on an off track. Otherwise I hope IHA runs his best race to date and ends this TC drought sh*t.

How about this one is regard to last year's Classic?

Oh well, that's why they call it gambling. I will not be betting Unclo Mo at 2-1 that is for sure. The only other horse I like at decent odds is Drosselmeyer

Picking Drosselmeyer is the internet redboard version of picking Lilacs and Lace as representative that Flower Alley is a pretty sweet sire.

I am pretty sure we all miss a hell of a lot more than we hit....for the record I did end up on Drosselmeyer, redboarding or not

This moved Rags up considerably... enough to win, I'm still betting against that.

Don't spend that 5/2 in one place, super 'capper.

I had Atigun for some real cash. Enjoy though. 5/2 is much better. You're the only one who had it.

5/2 seemed pretty fair though, most of that field had done very little and if you did not like the Romans horse your getting a pretty square price on a good horse.

Yeah. I knew that my chances were in trouble when he broke decent. Just a plug of a horse though. Congrats but he won because Smith has been a f.ucking ho the whole triple crown series and I called it on Derby when he had the horse pinned on a dead rail instead of a path wider.

Today for some odd reason he gave the rail up. Must be all of that wine he's consuming.
