Indeed, $0.86 ROI from 117 starters. On turf, he is 4-83 with an ROI of $0.39.

I don't know if he has over 100 starters, but I would not be surprised if Rusty Arnold is one of the sub par guys.

From his 41 dirt starters, Arnold's ROI is $0.48!

What about Glenn DiSanto?
Dude wins about six races a year but always wins at least one at Sar, usually at huge odds.

Richie Schosberg is dangerous early in the meet - check out how he does with his first starter of the meet every year.

Nick's "100 Starters" seems to have thrown a lot of people.

The other two sub-$1.00 ROI guys who have 100 or more starters are Nick Zito ($0.87) and Bruce Brown ($0.61).

Wesley Ward has an ROI of $0.88 with all 2YO starters over the last 5 years at Saratoga, which is a pretty dreadful number.

That is because they don't card four and a half furlong races for him.

Had no idea until you posted this that Margolis' record at Saratoga was so bad. He was 1-34 over the last five years with a $0.24 ROI.

Got that right. He is just 4-53 going back to '08, but those four have all paid well. Most recent bomber was Presumptive on opening day 2012.

Wouldn't you find similar numbers at every race meet for Lerman or Ortiz? Or for every low percentage trainer for that matter? When someone wins so few races, the winners almost have to pay well, don't they?
