Default Chicago Bears - City of Chicago

I was fortunate to get to my buddies on Sunday morning and for him to say "We're going tonight". We were in the last row, south endzone, great seats for football as you could just stand the whole time and get pumped. I HAVE NEVER heard Soldier Field like it was ALL GAME tonight, it was unbelievable. The city of Chicago is SO AWESOME when the Bears are winning. Bums are jiving away on the bongos, bums smoking garbage cans with canes. IT IS SO AWESOME RIGHT NOW. Buying Super Bowl tickets this week before they are like 10k a ticket...

I think I saw that bum on the bongos. Right by the Madison Avenue bridge.

No, I wasn't there. Watched it on TV. But there's often a bum wailing on the bongos at the Madison Avenue bridge near the train station. Last year, he'd wail away then yell "go Sox".

I was in Chicago in June - it's an incredible city; I fell in love with it. I'm really happy for long-suffering Bears fans - this is a very easy team to like. I'm a relative newbie as a Bear fan and I'm trying very hard to quell my excitement. It is only 4 games - there's a long way to go. However, I'm so glad that Chicago is revelling in the Bears' success - there are no guarantees in the end, so why not enjoy it? Did anyone see Chris Collingsworth on the Sunday night telecast? LOL He looked stunned that the Bears, of all teams, would put up that kind of offensive performance. In fact, most of the national media is rather dumbfounded as well. I can hardly blame them, but Rex is the real deal.

I wish I could have been at SF for that game - what an experience that must have been, Scav. I just hope the players don't pay attention to the media; they are getting a lot of attention now, with many putting them at the top of the list as far as teams to beat for the Super Bowl. I say just ignore the media and take it one game at a time; I trust Lovie and the staff and I think, also, that the Bears learned from last year and their playoff loss to Carolina.

Plus, Da Bears have the coolest uniforms in the NFL.

I sometimes lose touch with Chicago and forget how awesome of a city I have 10 miles away. I live in the burbs and alot of the cooler things have moved towards the money per say. I have been down there my whole life, been to probably 25 Bear games, 150 Cubs games, ~20 Bulls game, couple DePaul (when Quentin was their and all their corruptness) and Wolves game. Got to see the Bulls once (Jordan) in the old Chicago stadium. Chicago thru and thru and I am going to start making my way down their more often. I always catch my eyes all over the place down there because their is so much to look at.....

I think taking your "home" city for granted is natural, unfortunately. I live a mere train ride away from NYC, but I've not done 1/2 the things there are to do there. I have to say that I fell head over heels for Wrigley Field; it's the most beautiful ballpark I've ever seen. I love Fenway (I'm choking as I type this, because I despise the Red Sox) and I think Yankee Stadium is a cathedral (just adore the place), but Wrigley has this real, old-time baseball feel to it. The new Yankee Stadium is going to look a lot like the old one, which will be nice; I'm a traditionalist.

I stayed in the Loop during my visit and I just had a blast; I would never stay any place else. I also had the two best meals of my life (Alinea and Tru) in Chicago...thank goodness is just a hop, skip and a jump from NY. Chicago shouldn't take a back seat to any city.

all over the papers, I am guessing it might be done by next week. If it isn't him, it is Pinella...I am cool with either, we don't need a nice guy here, we need a guy likes to chew some ass(in a non homosexual way). Pinella would become a cult legend here I bet but maybe a 5 year fix, Giradi could become a 20 year coach with a couple World Series'(It will happen eventually). Both want hard players players, and that is all that Cubs fans ever want.

Look at the hype the Bulls are getting because they get a guy like Wallace. If you could believe this, the friggin CUBS got the most press today on the Sun Times and Tribune, next was the Bulls, then the Bears, the team that is 4-0 and the only thing they have done wrong is throw a bad pass for a TD
