Here's the provision concerning scratches:

"Selection scratches: If your selection is scratched at any time before 0 minutes to post, you may make another selection. No changes may be made after that point. If your horse is scratched and you do not make another selection, you are credited for the mythical dollars, but players must be aware they need to make a bet on another race to utilize their entire $100 bankroll. Exception: if the player chooses a horse in the last race that is a late scratch after the cutoff time has expired, the player is given the post time favorite."

So, if your pick in the next to last race is a late scratch and you have had to do something associated with real living, you get disqualified for failing to wager your full $100. Who comes up with these chicken**** rules?
Agree.. Shouldn't take long to go through the players this way.

Think it was clyde or the guy that came up with this contest...if everyone gets eliminated he gets all the prizes...

The picks I had made yesterday had also been wiped out. When I went to redo them this morning, I was able to access the site and log in, but on the selection page, I was able to choose the amounts to wager, but was unable to pick the horse I wanted. The column marked "Pick" had the percentages of those who had selected the horse, but no way that I could find to make a pick. Then the next time I tried, everything worked properly. Very strange arrangement.

I checked to see if I could get this to work on my cell phone, it wouldn't. I would not normally post so early, but being busy at work and it not working, I was going to reach out to a friend for help in changing picks if scratches came up. I certainly normally know it is not recommended to post that early.

Still can't select the 1 in the first race, but she's not listed in scratches.

Same here. I have to use Firefox to log in, otherwise I get a "URL Not Found" message.

Guess that means we will need to hope for bombs from here on. Usually that stage arrives a bit later on in a contest.

After looking at the first day's standings, it is clear that I had the wrong approach to this contest. I played the first day the way I might play a day at the races, placing $10 or $20 Win-place bets on what I thought were contenders. Then saw that the leader had over $3200, which I assume was the result of betting $100 on Flying Posse in Race 8, who paid $65.20 to win. My approach could not possibly reach that total in a full 10 days of play, even if just about every pick came in.

So, for the rest of the contest I'm going to completely change my approach. I'll simply try for the highest score of the day by making a single $100 win bet on a huge price horse and hope for the best. I guess there's no shame in having a score of zero for every day if you have the chance of having that single hit that could win the best day's performance. It's a bizarre way to play a contest, and is contrary to all of my handicapping habits, but that seems to be the only way to have any shot at all.

Does anyone else feel the same way?
