It's funny this came up at all because I really was thinking of asking about trying to limit the "Personal Message as Threadstrarter"...

Would like everyone's input.. They do OCCASIONALLY get a quality thread going, but for the most part seem to be limited exchanges...

Perhaps the answer is a "threadstarter" with an actual topic first and a paranthesied directive after?

i.e. "BEL P6 today! (Hooves? Orca?)"

Feel free to provide feedback... This folds into an exchange Bolb Bklyn and I had this week.. Happy to see if the Trailers want to take an active role in helping maintain the guidelines around the Forum...

Steve: As happy as I am to be here, I don't know all the people well enough to preume to PM them. Have used the PM on occasion, due to not wanting a personal answer to be posted. Whatever guidelines that you deem appropriate are fine by me!

In all honesty...it's just a habit with me. Being a golf professional for so many years, a big role we play is in customer service. A big part of customer service is making people feel comfortable by using their names when addressing them. It is just something I have been doing for 15+ years now...and it carrys over to my conversations on here. In no way, shape or form am I attempting to exclude or discourage anyone from reading or responding to my threads that may be addressed to someone in particular...in fact, I encourage it. It's just the way I converse with people.

Apologies to anyone that may have been offended by those types of post.

BUT, in all fairness Steve, I posted 2 threads in the Sections Forum that produced nice winnings to anyone that may have played them. Hardly anyone posted on those threads...Sniper made 1 comment on one and Gander on the other. Too many people seem interested in arguing about Polytrack in the millionth thread about it...or beating each other up about Bernardini and the shieks and all the other B.S. that none of us have any control over. No body seems actually interested in handicapping and making scores anymore.

Im sorry...I am gonna stop now, as I am going off on a tangent.

Speaking of our exchange ... which may also be described as a bloody knife fight ... and in light of your Groucho icon ...

... "A Day At The Races" ... featuring the fictional horse High Hat ... was on Turner Classic Movies last night!

How's that for an extreme and stunning coinkydink?

That seems like an excellent approach to me.

Its all about opinions. Like this topic is still listed on the main forum. Some feel it should be here, some feel it should be in another location.

In the case dealing with the Dr. Chainsaw thread, I do not agree with Steve on locking it up and sending it on its way. I know Chainsaw is a friend of Steve's, but when I see an email from the good Doctor, I might just reply with: 'hey Steve created Derbytrail.com and some forum members wonder when you are going to show up with your wit and knowledge?'

Some people might just offer some insight to answer questions asked if they were directed toward someone else. This might help in the long run. If you do want just a response of who you are directing to, then just PM it.

But IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED THE THREAD, JUST SKIP IT!!!! IT IS SO EASY TO DO. I haven't been on here since Wed. Night. So I get on here to catch up and skip the threads that I'm not interested to catch up anyways. I like how this forum has a mark forum thread section. AS a suggestion I would like to have that option for the individual categorize threads.

As far as setting a precedence like "i.e. "BEL P6 today! (Hooves? Orca?)," people are not always going to follow it. Like me as a second job a write for a website short excerpts of information. But as quick as I go through things, I might leave something out, and my grammar might be off. My info. might be printed as is, or edited, or sent back to me to please explain further.

Really its not a big deal. But in the my own opinion, the only threads that should be locked and deleted are the ones with verbal sparring attacks between posters, and ones that considered libelous enough warranted to any suit.

Eh.. I disagree with this. The moderators' job isn't just to eliminate offensive material, but also to cut down on clutter. I'm gonna stay mum on the rest of this subject, but I just wanted to say that.

So define clutter? That sounds kinda subjective.

You know what I mean by clutter. There's a lot of complete ****ing nonsense on this board and don't act like I'm pulling this out of my ass. There are numerous threads that either belong somewhere else, belong in PM, serve no purpose but to rile people up, or rehash the same points that have been made 1,000 times earlier. It wastes space. I don't care how harmless you think it is.. If it isn't trimmed down, sooner or later we have a total mess. So stop pretending you don't know what I'm talking about.

Ateam I agree, but for every poly thread you think may be clutter, there are those of us who are gonna puke if one more Bernadini thread goes up, LOL!!
What I'm saying is, one man's clutter is another man's I wanna read this thread.
I mean, I get yelled at for throwing up a Hey Steve what about Chainsaw, and Hooves posts a way to go Chuck(who I happen to love, no problem here with that) which is basically the same thing. Thats a bull**** double standard. How do you decide the relevance between them?
(And I'm busting your balls on bernadini)
