I agree with you 100% on your main point, Blackthroat, and that is people waste entirely too much time and $ based on jocks. However, like Oracle said, I have no problem throwing out a horse because of certain jock on him. Luzzi can win races on TAP's horses who are by far the best in the race, but the guy is speed crazy IMHO, and will cost a very good horse, Spun Sugar, any chance at winning the Distaff, just because of his style of riding.

That completely flies in the face of his terrific, and winning, ride aboard her in the Go for Wand.

I just watched that Go for Wand race again the other day. I think you and I just see it differently. I see him already getting into her going into the turn. She was just that much better than everyone in the race that day that she was still able to have enough energy to split horses and run by everyone in the stretch. I've been wrong plenty of times before though and I'll be wrong for plenty of $ on Nov. 4th as well.

That "fitting" stuff is nothing more than a romanticized notion that is clung to by sports writers who don't know any better and degenerate gamblers who want desperately to believe in such bull****.
mike you wouldnt bet a horse first time pval if you felt the horse needed to be hustled from the gate and wasnt in previous races? one of the reasons i loved and bet offlee in the holybull was because the guid was gettin aboard and i felt the horse needed a patient ride in the race, he got just that and popped at a huge price for lands as you know of course. in certain instances its valid in my opinion

And then "the Guid" didn't ride him out for 3rd money in his next start.
I wouldnt bet any horse just because Pval was on it, its the horse that counts most.

Oracle, no one is saying you bet a horse just because a jockey is on it. However, everyone who knows anything would rather bet a speed horse with PVal on it as opposed to Santos on the same horse.
