I don't really want to see bern lose...I want to see the best horses win, and I think he probably is the best horse....
But i would like to see Invasor win, i like this horse a lot and he feels a little bit like the red-headed stepchild in the darley stable

I love Bernardini and what to see him win. My problem is that I cannot separate him from the owners who are going to rush him off to stud. Thus, I am now rooting for the other Slews, Lava Man and longshot Suave. It would be delightful if a son of A.P. Indy wins, but it is SUAVE!

Regardless, i am going on record as hoping he will lose and also that i will be betting against him.

Anyone else on this bus?
I would be screwed if he doesn't win, stone cold single on the whole day...

why would you be rooting against lava man? i mean we all know that bernardini is pure evil.....but what did a quality old gelding like lava man ever do to make you hate him.
i don't think he has a chance of hell in winning, but i like him.

Lava Man, as you can see from all of the responses on my reply, has been thrown in our faces like we HAVE to like him - I don't.

Initially I thought I didn't like the horse because of knowing someone who had a very bad dealing with Mr. O'Neil and his brother, but Great Hunter is growing on me, so I guess really don't hold a horses connections against him like others if I like the horse enough. In the end, I just don't like Lava Man. Of course I don't wish ill upon him.

Damn straight I hope he loses if it means he will run again. Maybe he gets an absolutely horrid trip, stumbled start, caught in traffic, bumped, etc... and comes out in perfect shape, seething to go again. They cant contain him because all involved with the horse know he wants to run again. He refuses to breed unless they let him run for another year or two. Good stuff.

Cant root against Dini, but I'd like 2/1 a whole lot, so if a lotta people wanna play against, thats fine. The only reason I would not want to see him win is that IF he wins and IF he retires all of the internet message board bull**** of his place in history will be a HUGE pain in the ass.

I'm also with Sightseek that I really dont like Lava Man either...

I love this thread and hope the anti-Bernie bus is loaded with money against him. TA said this is the best horse he's ever been around and that includes CIGAR. He does everything so easy. I wish him a HUGE and SAFE run and then maybe he can get the credit he deserves. And Invasor is owned by Bernie's owner's bro. so I don't get the evil empire stuff.

I find it laughable that someone would actually imply that this horse doesnt get "the credit he deserves". What more credit do you want the horse to have? Perhaps we should erect temples and shrines devoted to praising his otherworldly gifts. Perhaps there should be ten biographies written in the next few months dedicated to telling the inside story about this wonderhorse that changed all of our lives.

all I hear is "he hasn't been challenged", "horses run their best numbers when they have easy races", etc etc etc.

The lack of respect he gets is demonstrated by this thread.

I'll give him credit when he faces these 2, and gets hooked.Isn't it amazing how there are 3 good horses in the country, and just so happens that they've never met(but nevermind that cuz we already have crowned a king.)

I have been on Bernardini Bus before Preakness. Also, I agree with TA the best three year old didnt run the Derby. Now BCC, well I want Dini to win but I also like Lava Man, Invasor, and Perfect Drift. So, any one of them wins, I am happy !!! I could care less about the connections and their future plans.

Actually, this thread does the contrary if you really think about it. My initial post said not one disparaging word about the horse. All it said was that i hope he loses. The fact that anyone would make a thread hoping that one horse would lose is a testament to how much hype this horse receives. Do you think if i created a thread entitled "who hopes fleet indian loses" it would generate any type of response? Of course it wouldnt.

People trying to find reasons to beat the odds on favorite is a big part of handicapping. If the only holes one can find are the ones that you listed above, it is a testament to the respect the horse receives. If all you hear are these "criticisms", then perhaps i can list out the 2000 threads and responses over the last few months proclaiming this horse the greatest thing since wheat bread. Or the 200 news articles.

I have all the respect in the world for the horse. I have stated why I have this wall up around him. I don't know why I haven't fallen head over heels for this horse. I don't know what it is. He has impressed me with his runs so far. Everyone seems to be hailing him as a superstar. I just want to see more before I jump on that bandwagon. Not knocking the horse, just saying that I want to see more before I hail him a superstar.

But yes, I do want to see him lose. DRIFTY RULES!!!

That's all you see on here? I'd say the majority on here are happily licking his sack, and putting everything they can on him.Sure thing(just like when the chalkhounds were getting a rush off singling Cambiocorsa.)
