It reminds me of a race won by Sophisticat. She looked to have absolutely no chance and then just exploded.

I thought that Hold that Tiger probably was a better dirt horse than a turf horse. Strange but he has zero buzz here. If he had been able to get out of the gate in the BC juvy he may have been able to win the damn thing. He got so far behind that it was laughable.

Cornation stakes at Royal Ascot 2002.. yeah she came from a mile back... I think Kinane got checked for a run a few times, then had to go right to the outside and she literally flew home....here is the racingpost comments of the race for the winner!

Sophisticat, three times no match for Queen's Logic last year, should be rated a clear winner as she was taken up a blind alley inside the final 2f before switching sharply widest midtrack and having 4l to make up on her French Guineas conqueror Zenda in under a furlong. The impression was she would have won by a couple at least with an uninterrupted run. The fast ground brought a major improvement as her previous form had hinted.

yeah youre probably right.. his best run IMO was his second to Mineshaft.. I always thought that he would have been an ideal candidate for something like the Belmont, but Coolmore left him on turf for the first part of the season...
