Default BCS Championship Game

It isn't hard to figure it out Ohio State should play Florida for the championship. Florida played the toughest schedule of the year. They come from where I feel is the best conference in all of college football. At least for thier non conference/scrimmage games they don't play Army, Navy, and Air Force. Take note of that last one all you Notre Dame fans. Again it proves why there is a need for some sort of playoff system. I am sure you will have a team that is deserving a playoff spot not getting in and raising hell about it. While Michigan would be a very deserving oppenent for Ohio State, they had thier chance a few weeks ago. If they had played earlier in the year then you could maybe a case for a rematch.

Dahoss,
Noone is in Seattle's league.
You weren't on our old board, his list of mushed horses(and reverse mushes who he said could never win a grade one, who won one in their next starts) is legendary.
Seattle actually said Derby week of 2004(I'm not making this up, everyone from the old board will confirm this) that if Smarty Jones won the Derby that his lack of class would make him worth no more than 2 million at stud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a fact, he only missed by 38 million.

You just won a 100,000 bet on a game between Michigan and Florida.
Which team are you gonna put your 100 grand on?
i won 100grand? i wouldn't bet again, i'd be at the two year old in training sale.

also, look at floridas opponents and how many are bowl bound. how many of THEIR opponents are bowl bound. most sec teams are playing post season.

florida won the sec. did michigan win their conference? NO! how can a team win a nat'l title if they can't even win their conference??????? obviously OSU is what kept them from the win. but it's still a fact they didn't win. they had their shot at osu and no 1, mich failed.

Florida's schedule is only if you think the sec was a tough conference this year. I think it was a below average year for them. They just took turns beating the hell out of each other. Ill take the top 3 in the big ten over the top 3 in the sec any day.

You see, when the best two teams meet, its always more exciting than watching one team pound on another team.
Now, if you wanna make a little wager on OSU-Florida if it occurs be my guest!!!
I think that anyone who is advocating such a matchup wholeheartedly should be willing to back the Gators, seems logical.
it has nothing to do with the south
if the officals wouldn't have blow the OKlahoma-Oregon game
I'd say OU would have a better beef than Michigan
the national championship should be played with conference champions

What would have been real interesting is if the OSU-Michigan game had been played yesterday as opposed to a week ago. More people would be clamoring for the rematch, I think. As it is, a bit of the "out of sight, out of mind" is at work.

Can't blame the Florida people for saying it's their turn.

If Gators get there and win, they'd be reigning champs in Basketball and Football. That would be pretty big...
the Michigan "lost by 3" and so deserves to play is crap
they scored a TD very late and added a 2 point converstion
FLA was down 4 to auburn and tried to pass it to each other on the final play which led to a fumble and an auburn score with no time left
Michigan had their hands full with BALL STATE!

I'm pretty proud of Michigan for not campaigning, I think Urban looks like a 4 year old...here's some interesting stuff I would point out.

Over and over and over again they said that Florida had the toughest schedule based on opponent win percentage. A few times they said UM was #3, but the main focus was that UF had the #1 toughest schedule. They repeatedly noted that the criteria for that statement was opponent win percentage. BUT THAT'S NOT TRUE!!!

Michigan's opponents: 84-61 (0.5793)
Florida's opponents: 90-66 (0.5769)

The only way to make the numbers work the way ESPN presented them is if you take out Florida's game against a 2-9 IAA team (W. Carolina) from the calculations. But shouldn't playing a 2-9 IAA team reflect negatively on your schedule strength?

And they had one common opponent Vanderbilt.
UF won 25-19 and was outgained by Vandy 391-330
UM won 27-7 and outgained Vandy 381-171

Let Florida get their wish...I look forward to rooting for O$U

yes FLA is better than Michigan
the AP and Coaches have just voted it as well
so I'm not way off in left field for thinking such a thing
if Michigan goes and wins, not only will the series with OSU be 1-1
but the AP will split the NC with FLA, provided they win their bowl game
the whole thing begs for a playoff~but provided the betting line
I'd be careful of betting on OSU in a game w/ Florida

ahh sweet southern speed can't be stopped. The "no rematch" defense is laughable since Florida's 97 title was, uh well over a Florida St. team that beat them earlier in the year. Florida and Michigan both deserve a shot, and the problem is the system.

but it was by 3 points on the road!
what the pro-rematchers are saying
and this was 10 years ago before the "BCS" was in place
just goes to show the new system hasn't made things any better/clearer
btw, I was not for this 1997 rematch either
if Boise State wins and Ohio State loses can we make them #1?

Wasn't UM's loss 3 points on the road too? I'm not really arguing, I'm fine with Florida going but you're going to have to do better than that...LOL

They could have resolved this, they added the game and should have made it +1 system instead of what they did to appease the mid-majors...oh well.

On a lighter note, if UM and SC go to the Rose, at least their cheerleader's will be pulling for my squad.

that UF team did put up some nasty numbers
they had some receivers who could flat out fly
umm, no you missed my point~I don't want this rematch
and didn't want that one either, regardless of points lost by
it's just my main point is...UF and UM played hard schedules
both have one road loss, the difference is one is 1st in their
respected conference while the other 2nd
to say one conference is better than the other is subjective
at this point
what isn't is that OSU has beaten UM already
so let's have the SEC #1 face the Big Ten #1 for the NC
yeeee haaaaw! better git back to me moonshine, it is a Sunday

What would be best for all is if 5 or 6 teams come very close to a tie in BCS points, one defeat for each, and none of the aforementioned having played a game with each other.
What we really need is a playoff system forced on the frickn bowl $ mongers and their blue-blooded University President friends.
I was hoping USC would lose so there would be a big Florida v. Michigan controversy. If OSU had 1 loss, and had skipped Michigan in conf. play (which never happens but should), it would have been a really nice situation. We can always hope next year ends up in utter confusion... the house of bowl shi t needs to be brought down.
