Default Hal's Hope this Saturday

Sure does look like that Strong Contendar is a bet against this Saturday. Ward has said the horse needs a race and this race should set up perfect for their main goal which is the Donn. Between the 2, SNS is the better bet IMO. However, with a nice field (13?) it could be a crap shoot.

A couple of horses I like in this race are Rexson's Rose and Big Lover.

I think Sir Greeley has a shot in this race AS LONG AS they take him back and try to make one run with him like they did in his last couple...if he is on the lead i dont think he has a shot in here.

Agreed, if you look at the past performances in the nominations his early pace figures are all under 90 except for two of his more disappointing races, the Carter and Met Mile when he went 108 and 110 early. They can't keep him too close to a hot pace if he is going to have a chance here.

I initially liked this horse, but I think the race sets up against him. I think the horse is going to be too close to the pace and sort of fizzle out down the stretch.

I'm hoping they see that too and keep him off it.

Do you think the horse wants to lay back?

I think you'll see Sir Greeley taking off the pace in here. Theres 2 or 3 in here that are much quicker early on including the favorite Sweet Saint. I wouldnt be surprised to see Greeley sitting 7th or 8th in here.

I'm going with a price; Chatain. He loves the one turn mile, is versatile and Penna can light it up off the long layoff. I'll key him with SNS and Sir Greely in exactas and also use him in pick 3s and pick 4s

Sure, he's come from the back before, he doesn't seem like the type that minds sitting back at all.

This looks like a good race alot of no names unless you follow FL Racing then you see some nice horses who run down here

SNS should destroy this field but never know. Sir Greeley will be flying at the end (Probably will be farther back the 7th or 8th especially if the pace is not that fast--also drew a nice post will be outside just waiting for a opening)and Chatain should be up there unless someone decides that they want to lead the race and get a hot pace

Also in the sprint race they got Mach Ride at 8/1?? Nice price if he decides he wants to run

Strong Contender.. the distance is perfect for him.. he'll run a big one tomorrow.

Then crash and burn in the Donn...

If Invasor runs in the Donn there is no chance you will get a nice price on him regardless how SC does in the Hal's Hope.

Excellent field for a 100 grand race. Will not bet it but pull for SNS in a big way.

R. Dominguez goes for a ride. Would be nice if he actually TRIED to pace the horse. 45.4 half/1.08.4 three quarters....The horse was dead. Never had a chance.

I love how people think he is some sort of "horse whisperer" and never really has to drive a horse, just sort of lets the horse "tell" him what he needs to do...

The most overrated jock in the game IMO.

I gotta say, while I think he may have been somewhat of a victim of circumstances today, I agree with this sentiment. I have NEVER seen a rider as overbet as him in NY these days and he is really nothing special. Frankly, his NY rival Eibar Coa is TONS better.
