but I have found that a 2 thousand pound car (or whatever it weighs) is a great tool for intimidation

well most here know the story from the espn board wing but you werent round much so ill bring ya up 2 speed. my horse was shipped to minnesota and the ahole sent him back to me sore as hell and way underweight like i said. i got a 600+ dollar vet bill all from"supposed" work, the horse hadnt raced from the time that"supposed" work was done either. i pretty much think the guy had the vet work i paid for done on some of his other horses. when my original and current trainer steve cholity and i went to pick up the horse from his farm his words were hes doing great hes ready to run 2morrow. just the opposite as i sent him to the farm for 5 months. when i questioned this guy about why my horse was underweight he said from a bee sting. lol my horse is not the best runner in the world yes i know that hahahha but he maybe the best eater as he ALWAYS cleans up his feed and eats more than any1 in the barn. i was sour on racing in general and thats the main reason why i didnt attend live racing here for the time i stated. also though becuz that prick was training here and if i saw him obviously things woulda happened right there. yeah i was upset about getting ripped off financially(was also overcharged on my training bill) but what angered me most of all was the lack of care my horse recieved. come to find out after i had my horse with this guy i learned hed been sued a few years ago when he was running a farm. he was billing clients for medicine and other things that their horses never recieved, obviously he was pocketing the money. its sad to say in the sport i love but i learned alotta things the hard way in the business and i now trust very few people. when im on the backside i see alotta people in white and black striped suits with a ball and chain attached to them(crooks) |

thanks for telling the story again. I have heard other stories and that is why I hesitate to get involved. that and $$$. The new utility rates, a doctor bill, no OT and insurance... I'm not going to the OTB tomorrow we're supposed to get more ice storms. I've got limbs all across the blvd still waiting to get picked up. So.. how is your horse doing now?

I know personally, people getting strung along by dirt bags such as this - every excuse in the book why it can't run, etc, meanwhile collecting $80+ day rates when the horse isn't even close to form, much less even close to the track (on a farm in Whoknowswhereville), getting milked for every friggin' line item they can squeeze into a monthly bill. Only to find out that the horse is living in squalor, not getting the med attention THEY have been paying for etc... I've been extremely fortunate in that I haven't jumped into the game when I could have (there have been a lot of opportunities) but chose to get together with 3 very close friends with like minded sensabilities and built our own stable from the ground up; utilizing only the most respected names in the business, and so far it has work out to everyone's expectations. I'm sure there are a lot respectable partnerships out there, and MOST of them offer a great avenue to get into the ownership game, but stories like this make my blood boil. |

dans doing just fine these days. its not all bad people but as i said there are alotta crooks in the business and alotta people who will take you and your pocketbook for a ride. i wonder if some have a conscious, apparently not! its not all bad though there are good, honest trainers on the backside. im back with my original trainer and have been since that incident now since hes not leaving town. although hes only 22 i wouldnt want anybody else to train for me. steve came up under hall of fame trainer eddie cole and has had his training license for just a little over 2 years now. as long as he wants to train i wanna own. im close to buying half of a horse and i will claim another this year. 2007 will be a very good year for yours truly in the sport of kings=) |
