Perhaps it wasnt him not doing well in S Florida but fact he had not developed yet during those races. Never been a big fan of this horse and while he may prove me wrong I more likely see him as a plodder who earns his share of checks but rarely comes through. A loss in this allowance will again be ripe with excuses about bias and post but in all honesty I think horse is OK nothing more.

I saw jazil run at gulfstream last winter in an allowance race prep with Corinthian for the FOY. I was impressed with both of their tenacity down the stretch in that one. Now he came in 2nd in an allowance race at AQ, and is being entered for another allowance race to tighten him up. The word from Helen Pitts was that she is going to run Einstein on the dirt on March 3rd in the GPHandicap. Jazil is also being pointed to the same race, and judging from Einsteins turf prep race last week, McGlaughlin needs to put more into Jazil, to take him on. The race is 1 3/16, so we shall see what happens. I'm going to try to be at gulfstream thursday for the Jazil vs Coriinthian allowance race, so i'll report back if i make it there.

I guess the only way Einstein has any breeding value is if he gets a reasonable Graded Stakes victory but his dirt wins are in off-the turf races and he is unlikely to be competitive in any even mildly decent dirt races.
Frankly, I am skeptical about him winning anything from here on out, as his turf stakes win at Gulfstream was the result of loafing on the lead in an absurdly slow pace. His fourth to English Channel and Cacique at Churchill was decent but the layoff and subsequent so-so return have me highly dubious of his future chances. I know he had some traffic that day but I was not impressed at all with his race. |

If you can make that race in person let us know -- nothing like seeing things in person. The road he's on makes me wonder if Jazil is OK or whether we'll see a quick retirement soon. Lotta people here hate Jazil. He's a gamer and his Belmont was stronger than people give him credit for. |

Corinthian jogs, wins this race for fun.... i make every bet i say im going to make on this site, and im thinking of putting $500 to win on him, i like him alot in this spot. Jazil is the most overrated horse in the history of horse racing.

most in the history of horse racing??? surely not! there've been a lot of overrated horses out there. he's only run once since the belmont, not enough time on the track to really build hype.
it's to be expected he would win again. but i don't think i'd say he's overrated.

How do you go from making $20 WPS bets to a $500 win bet? You must be crazier than me. Peronally I like the bet and agree Corinthian will win today. Am I putting $500 on him? No way. Just rooting for him as I do all Jerkens horses. |

In addition to that, who, at 21 years old has $500 to throw around?
Somebody who lives at home with Mommy and Daddy and has no bills. |

Something about deep closers that gets them a big "fan club". Deep closers always have at least 2 excuses before they enter the gate. They made there move either too soon or too late. One thing is a constant . It is always something or somebody that caused the defeat of a deep closer.
