And...to be clear, I like suspenseful horror, not blood and guts stuff. Never cared for Texas Chainsaw Mass or Devils Rejects type stuff. I like Buffy type horror...Hush for example. Forever Knight is very dark and has it's share of blood (hard to do vampires without blood) but doesn't rely on sensational violence and visual shock...it's horror is more in the mind...and to me, that's 1000x more scary!

Well, Forever Knight has an ending that is well, I wouldn't say happy...it's left open a crack but pretty much, Lacroix goes on alone, perhaps Janette is somewhere and the rest...well, I guess it comes down to faith. Buffy had a happy ending (to be continued soon), Angel was left to conjecture but certainly there was death, Charmed was happy, Dark Angel had zero closure...I guess endings, especially once you've become vested in characters, are never satisfying!

1) Buffy the Vampire Slayer (7 years, WB & UPN)
2) Angel (5 years, WB)
3) Dead Like Me (2 yrs, ShowTime)
4) Forever Knight (3 years, CBS, syndication, USA)
5) Firefly (part season, Fox)
6) Charmed (8 seasons, CW)

9) Veronica Mars (3 seasons...current, CW)
10) The Highlander (6 seasons, syndication)
Now I know this is one of those to each his own threads, but those are some of the worst shows ever....I'm sorry I can't help it.....but again, it's all opinion....enjoy your dvd's....

Your entitled to your opinion but because you dislike something it doesn't necessarily make it bad! Others have chosen to list the shows they enjoy, it would seem to add more to the thread than simply making negative statements!

C & C,
Have you started Lost from the beginning or current episodes? I haven't watched it and want to at some point, let me know what you think!

All-time favorite shows-

Wire2Wire lol
NYPD Blue
Law and Order C.I. when Goran was the man
The Fresh Prince
G.I. Joe
SNL from '90-93
WCW Monday Nitro from '96-98

Somer,

I just started watching it, when it came back on in February. I have a fixation for Elizabeth Mitchell for some reason. I'm trying to get an understanding for it. I'm not sure if I like the idea that I have to wait for every other episode to watch Mitchell and the storyline that surrounds her. Desmond's episode bored me for the first 30 minutes, then I was like whoa that was interesting. This past week with Cheech Marin was ok. These seperate episodes are bugging me. I guess I needed to see from close to the beginning to try to get a true understanding of it. I would preferred watching "The Nine" instead in this kind of format.

I've been meaning to watch The Unit ever since Summer Glau joined the cast but just haven't gotten to it yet; Kojak was a favorite of mine, along with Columbo...the best of the older cop shows imo, then came Crime Story and Homicide, Life on the Street a bit later.

Baba,
I read this blog entry this morning, the writer pretty much echos my feelings about TV, he includes Millennium (esp the first two seasons) on his list...based on his other entries, I suspect Millennium is a show I will watch at some point...just thought you might find his take on the series interesting:

Both good shows...I tired of HSB in later seasons but it was a good show, always liked Jack Lord in Hawaii 5-0 but found it a bit bland...good guys chase and catch bad guys... To me, Crime Story had a sharper edge, the "Bald Wonder" excelled in Kojak and Peter Faulk was great in Columbo.

Baba,
As a follow-up regarding Millennium...I got the DVD's today (3 seasons) and am watching the pilot now. As soon as I saw the characters I remembered it, I did see a few episodes and enjoyed it, don't recall what happened that I stopped watching, either there was something else in the time slot or my schedule changed. In any event, this is a very dark show, not sure of the depth yet but Frank Black as I recall is an interesting main character. I'll watch and see how I feel it compares to Forever Knight...the show I've recently fallen in love with. Carter is often compared to Joss Whedon based on his success with the XFiles...most of the reviews claim this show is better...I hope so as the XFiles left me flat.
