I'm thrilled to see Bushfire win here. I guess she had something left, afterall!

Wow, Teammate is truly a "make the lead with no pressure to win" rat....I really thought she was better than that but evidentally I was wrong....her Bonnie Miss must have been a fluke....maybe two-turns will wake her up...dunno...Bushfire is so game..gotta love her

She is unbelievable. I played her at 7/1 in that Tampa race but haven't had her since. Just unbelievable how she just throws it down every time. Not sure how strong the division is, but it doesn't matter she is game as can be

I was on the Bushfire train starting in Tampa but got off today.

3 Grade 1's by July 1. Can anyone name the last 3 yo filly to have three G1 wins as a 3 yo by early July?

This filly and Lava Man are the stories of the year. CCA or Alabama next, I suppose. Very close to achieving true greatness.

I agree...the division is very suspect....I like Ermine when they stretch back out around two turns but she is just average too....not a great group, but I guess that is why we had a 47-1 win the Oaks this year..LOL

I agree about Bushfire. That filly is tough as they come. I was all over her yesterday after what she did when she rallied to take back the lead and beat Hello Liberty. She is going to be tough in the Alabama. I wonder if she goes for the Test at 7f as a prep. She could have 5 Grade 1's by the end of Saratoga. Watch out for Frankels filly, I believe her name is Sugar Shaker. She was super impressive earlier this week.

That's so interesting Eurobounce- in my handicapping learning curve, I've discovered I also can't look at the odds or I start to get influenced. I actually prefer to download the PPs and not even buy the DRF in paper because I can get affected by what the experts think. Odds should affect only whether I bet the race or not, not who I think will win it.

And it sucks having no time to handicap the G1 contest on the other board... I'm getting smacked upside and down over there... ah well, life intervenes sometimes.

i do the same thing, go over the pps and make my choices...and then the tote board tells me if i play or not. or what to play. i also consider how often the fave wins (around 30%) and base some daily doubles and pick threes on which faves absolutely will win. hit the early daily at oaklawn last time i went because the first race had a huge fave that would NOT lose, and then an obvious (to me) winner in the second.
funny the things you find tho, that others don't. had a horse further down in the card who had the fastest time at the distance to be run out of the entire field. had been ignored and was 12-1. put him in the exacta with arch hall, first or second in his other races. AH ran second to my 'find', SWEET.

Bushfire probably won't run until the Gazelle.

Pine Island will probably win the CCA Oaks and Alabama.

She is being pointed towards the Alabama. Could wrap of 3yr old filly of the year with that win.

Once again, they are considering the Alabama but may not run again until the Gazelle.

Hey, I don't know why they would pass a big payday like that, but she has been running all year and 1 1/4 could be a problem.

on dirt yes, but the most dominant and impressive performance by a three year old filly was by far Wait A While's performance yesterday. I always liked this filly and said so here.

On dirt you are absolutely correct because she has proven it at all distances and on several race tracks....her tactical speed puts her in every race and her gameness and will makes her a very tough opponent every time she lines up...

..As for best all-around 3-year-old filly, the jury is still out...But, I really think Patrick Biancone's Lady of Venice could prove to be the best of this generation - although she is strictly turf...she is the best 3-year-old turf filly in the county IMO...

A confrontation between venice and wait is the only way to settle that issue. Both are so incredibly talented on grass that its scary.

Dumb post, dumb as nails. What the hell does gary Stevens have to do with her winning HOY? The kid who rides her now is 2-2 with her. Was this a joke post?
