Ok I am going to speak about this in short form. If in fact Vick killed some of those dogs with his own hands the way the media is reporting and an NFL team signs him after his release shame on them. Second chances, even third are all fine and dandy for your run of the mill mistakes etc etc but.............
This is beyond the scope of what it means to be a human being. If he did in fact kill those dogs with his own hands OR knew of this going down, he deserves to spend A LOT MORE TIME in a HARSHER PRISON then what he no doubt will get. I want to go into other areas about this case but in respect for this board and my not getting banned I will refrain. This case has been a real, real thorn in my side and wil continue to be until the ACTUAL FACTS come out. Does not help when I see a woman last week wearing a Vick jersey at the Grocery Store I work. |

i've said before at work, i'm all for second chances--but his second chance will be at learning value for life, and for what he had and wasted and blew away with his own stupidity.
as for a second chance in the nfl--ain't gonna happen.

Hopefully the FEDS will catch up to Barry Bonds pretty soon, now that they have busted Vick.

Bonds should be easy to catch, its hard to run from the feds when you have a 45lb head

I am completely sick of listening to ESPN speculating on the fate of Vick's NFL career. They hyped Vick for years and featured him endlessly based on his athletic prowess rather than on his on-the-field successes. Though Vick has yet to formally accept a plea agreement or hear his sentence, ESPN has begun promoting the notion during its football telecasts that with a healthy donation to PETA and with some 'genuine' sound bites of contrition, Vick should be back in the league by '09 or 2010.
Let's hope that PETA is not like that assembly of whores that is headquartered in Bristol, CT. I believe that before PETA ever holds is kimono wide open and accepts blood money from this monster, it will cease to exist. For Vick, is it wishful thinking to hope he gets a chance to get hogtied in his 'rape stand' for the amusement of the lads in cell block C ? |

and yes, to hear tirico asking jaws and kornheiser what vick can do to get his career back on track was disturbing imo. ready to move on so quickly, and the case isn't even settled yet! but the worst was the morning mike and mike were off--and lee corso, kirk and reese were filling in--and corso was laying ALL of the blame for this on vicks friends-none of it on the man behind it all. ridiculous. but then, i've never cared for corso anyway. i'd love to take his pencil and

there is no way the NFL could have this guy in a uniform on the field again, i don't care how big a donation he makes to PETA.

Uh..and I do so hate to be a poopee here...but the biggest shame is anyone caring about pro sports this much.Outside of what the swine did....who cares?
Only the money silly fans toss at these fools makes it a big deal to everyone involved. In fact all sports is getting pretty sickening . Stop being sporty fans. |

Time.
Give it time while he does time. And the revulsion will die down. Especially if he shows some sort of true compassion and an understanding that what he did was revolting. People have short memories. Which is good... and bad. Marv Albert bit a woman in the butt. Basically attacked her the story went. Where is Marv today? |

I have not. I do not know how much remorse he has shown, real or acted out. He has made no comment on the seriousness of his crime. He just denied doing it. I hope you are right. I hope people are like you and dont forget this one. But they clearly have numerous times, especially with athletes. George Gervin sucker punched another player while at Eastern Michigan and hurt him really bad. He got thrown out of school. He is a legend in San Antonio. I wonder how many people who know basketball even know this happened. I realize he was a young kid and made a mistake. But it was a thought out sucker punch during a game. Im just saying people forget and I hope they dont. |

even if the nfl doesn't ban him, there are a limited number of owners that would accept him as the face of their franchise.
marketing campaigns are built around these guys. you can be accused of murder and still play linebacker. i don't think that's true of qb. it was a pretty big question mark whether anyone could build a superbowl team around vick anyway. scramblers create problems on both sides of the line. he'll be at least 2 years older and that question will be magnified when he's 29. then you add in the difficulty selling a fan base on a pet killer as the main guy. |

I am just being the cynic contrarion as a public service.
I cant see how any human being could torture animals who do not know any better. He got pleasure out of seeing animals go through maulings. I completely dont get it and I never have. And then he could actually kill them when they were PASSIVE? totally beyond me. I hope people dont forget this one. |

its going to be hard to tidy up the sadistic dog killer image.
i just think that sponsors, the league and the owners are going to want to get this behind them fast and not look back. |
