I'm still not worried.

Worried about getting blown out in the playoffs, maybe, but certainly still not worried about the Brewers catching up - especially with that series at SD.

The Cubs should only need one win. I don't see the Brewers taking more than two from San Diego. We'll see.

5-4 now.

You better get worried. Milwaukee REALLY needs to lose tonight to ease things. We probably won't win tomorrow either since there is SERIOUS fog in Cincy and are delayed right now. Probably won't get there until early morning now

Scav..This is classic, back into the playoffs and win the pennant. You never want to be too hot going in. Minnesota closed like a mother last year and...exit stage right

That is why I am hoping the Mets get completely shut out, because if they get in, they will go to World Series.

They are in a whole lot of trouble now. They are even in both the division and wild card now.

I love the fact that as long as we get in the playoffs we are playing the Diamondbacks. Arizona is already a Cub crowd, should have home field for the whole series, and COULD POSSIBLY END when i am at the game. Oh man, the insaneness......

Enjoy the playoffs Cubs fans. You tried to give the division back to the Crew, but they just don't want to take it. 5 errors last night. Once again the brewers are killing me. I am not sure I can even go watch the game tonight.

Jim, enough of that 'Pollyanna' optimism. Just a few more games to close out this season and the cubs will have gone a hundred years without winning a world series. As Jack Brickhouse once said, "Any team can have a bad century". This organization won't dare tinker with a successful business model that shows "on-field futility equals record setting attendance figures". It's highly unlikely this team even considers reversing that trend until it's time for a new stadium, like 2030 or 2040. The new owners will fall into the goosestepping ways outlined by the Tribune and only concern themselves with the bottom line. The more mundane things, like winning championships, will be left for the other team in this town who have already proven they can do it.
