I don't know him at all. I do, however, know that he has left an indelible mark of accomplishment in this game. For you to suggest that because he didn't have a TC winner he in some way failed is beyond absurd. The man's accomplishments are simply incredible. He is certainly closer to being immortal than Billy Turner. |

His accomplishments are incredible because they underline how many obscenely wealthy horse owners lack the ability to place their stock with the correct trainer. |

![]() Lukas has often shocked the racing world with his big, unexpected wins. Most either love or hate the man because of his shocking wins. He shocked me in the Jim Dandy when Scorpion wired Free Of Love at the wire. I had FOL in a number of winning combinations only to be shocked by Scorpion. Lukas beat me again, this time for quite a few bucks, I thought leaving the track.
Click on this picture as Lukas was shocking Saratoga. Congaree hung on for 3rd saving tons of bridgejumpers. http://www.pedigreequery.com/free+of+love FOL is on the rail, Scorpion foreground. Last edited by sumitas : 12-19-2007 at 01:34 AM. |

![]() If you use drugs as a reason for why he shouldnt be in the hall of fame then Pat Day, PVal and several other riders shouldnt be in the hall of fame either. Antley was prob one of the best jocks I have ever seen when it comes to pure talent and deserves to be in the hall of fame.

"Racing Productivity/Money Spent on Developing Talent" Assuming that the vast majority of what the big training outfits work with is young horse flesh purchased by deep pockets who then take the raw product and ask a guy like DWayne, TP, Kiran etc to then develop these insanely expensive babies into champions if not successful stakes horses for eventual breeding themselves. A glorified ROI for $$ invested vs whats earned by the horse from the track and then the reproductive career. I am not aware of any but do you think there are trainers who do well from this angle of figuring an index or stat for what a trainer produces or money returned via earnings over several years (because I would imagine that a yearly index would be impossible to interpret since the on track earning potential isn't a one year stat as 2 year olds do not have the opportunities to earn that 3 and older have)...... And even if this data did make sense as an index for a trainer are you not better off using a trainer who does more with lesser numbers of horses or the comparasion between guys like Asmusen and say Nafzger. If your going to spend several hundred thousand on a yearling do you do better with the factory or big chain approach or the "mom and pop" smaller guy who may have trained 10 horses a year but they all get individual attention from the true name trainer.......yes I must consider decaff!!! |

You mean sore horses actually race sometimes? I would have thought an experienced backstretch denizen like yourself would have known that. You knew nothing about Doc Cheney when you opened your trap here a couple months ago...and you know nothing about the horse now. |

well you didnt seem to believe me before hoss but i wouldnt just come on here making up what i heard and by now as the year progressed its pretty evident. believe me im not proud or happy about seeing any animal sore or less than a 100%. im sure somebody like chuck who actually trains and knows a helluva lot more bout the physical condition of the animals can elaborate further but basically any horse who runs hard is gonna have their little issues here and there but its blatantly obvious DC has and has had a little more than that, again most recently why would they wait 2 months off the claim 2 run him back??????? as far as zito goes as good as he is im sure he already knows, why would the horse had been in for the tag? sure even the top trainers(lol ah most prolly wont like this name but a good example) like asmussen let 1 slip through the cracks now and then like a filly he had named sis city (who got claimed for 50k i believe and went on to bank round 800k) but most of the time these guys arent giving anything away

You don't know one single thing about Doc Cheney that isn't printed in his pps. Nothing. You have absolutely no idea what the physical status of Doc Cheney is or ever was. He actually ran fine in his last race. I see firsthand, unlike you, how hard Nick Zito's staff works and it is disgraceful that you would discredit any of them in order to further your agenda of fantasy. |
