You should have been standing on the rail at Oaklawn and seen the head-on as Zenyatta and the rest of the field came charging down the stretch. We were between the 16th pole and the finish line and what a sight that was. She is a force to be reckoned with and my favorite horse in training.

Who said this, I think this is a HUGE advantage for the synthetic horses.

Horses that train over the synthetic seems to get alot from it, and when they get to these dirt courses, it is like running over pavement. I expect to use this angle heavily early in the Churchill meet coming up

Hystericalady can't beat Intangaroo on cushion....how would she beat Zenyatta, who is just as good on either surface?

I'm not sure I get it. Zenyatta runs 1:42.64 for 8.5 furlongs. Tiago runs 1:50.34 for 9 furlongs. Tiago/Heatseeker receive a 110 Beyer and Zenyatta receives a 104 Beyer. Is it simply because the Tiago race was hand timed and they threw the time out and it was in error?? That's what the DRF has on their site for Beyers for those races.

I have really liked this horse from the first maiden race, after which I said to myself, "there is a stakes winner". I knew she was awesome but I thought she would have more trouble at Oaklawn with her running style against Ginger Punch. Oaklawn is not the place you want to be if you're going to be 10 lengths off of the pace heading into the far turn in a 1 1/16 mile race. that is unless you're a monster, which apparently she is. absolutely devasting win yesterday.

Horses that train on synthetic WITH STAMINA BUILDING moves 'get a lot from it'... Note that Tom because the standard half mile moves DON'T GET IT DONE..

It is certainly not Hystericalady. That's why I want to see them run on the dirt, facing off on the cushion means nothing since we know Hystericalady sucks on it. I was responding to someone asking if Zenyatta was the best filly in the country, the "who knows who is best" was in reference to whether or not she's the best on the cushion, not a comparison to Hystericalady.

I didnt see the figures yet but to point out on the Zenyatta race is the pace was slowish and closing into a slowish pace rarely provides a fast final time, and not sure but being 10 back with 3 furlongs to go at oaklawn with a slowish pace, well there may have been a handful of winners like that all meet...and certainly none were chasing ginger punch. It appears the Zenyatta really is not dependent on the pace, she can go whenever asked. I would not be surprised to see here creep closer to the pace as she gains experience.

Hystarical Lady is one of the most mismanaged horses in a while, she has some real talent yet has not been put in the best spots to show it....thing zenyatta though may be really good, she embarrassed last years champ like it was a mdn special event.

The final time of the Oaklawn Park Handicap has been corrected.

As you mentioned - there was an error with the timer (the opening quarter mile was posted in 41 seconds and change) and the race was hand timed.

I guess who ever came up with the 1:50.34 clocking when they first hand timed it got it wrong badly. They have the race almost two seconds faster now.

she showed a new side today. went into the air a bit at the start, and last early. she wouldn't give up, and managed to catch alina. very nice.

i thought Alina might be dangerous with the field being so small. Eight Belles had to earn that one.
