As I'm sure you know, Del Mar is actually a different track. Del Mar is Polytrack while SA and Hollywood are Cushion Track.

I am not going to argue for or against here, however, you are never going to make everyone happy.

I am not shocked that the connections don't want to race Curlin on an synthetic track. So be it. I don't critisize or condemn them for that. I don't think it takes away from being a sportsman or anything along those lines. Regardless, I don't know if defending his BC Classic crown means anything at that point in time and on a synthetic track vis a vis stud value, stud fee, etc. Does it mean something in the fans eyes? Sure.

yes, i know there are different companies that install poly. i usually refer to them as AWT since poly is one brand name. but del mar was forced to do without the jelly cable due to environmental concerns-and i feel that the improper mix was the reason they have had problems, just like santa anita with the finer-grained sand clogging the drainage. and now, more rain, same problem. so much for the binder they installed. they have time before the bc to fix this, just like they had time before the spring meet to fix their other problems-and we know how that worked out. enough procrastination-hoping there isn't a problem or wishing it away is no solution.

Didnt we see this last year with Santa Anita? They are going to use the same corrective action as last year.....................

DO NOTHING, wait till you lose days to put a band-aid on it.

Sounds like they need to fix the base or change the to Duck racing on rainy days.
