Here is my question.
What do you think of colts like Victory Pete, El Gato Malo, Bob Black Jack etc?
Col. John's races this spring were okay, and his Santa Anita Derby performance was pretty nice. But who was he really running by in that race?
He certainly might turn out to be a very nice horse, but at this point he hasn't really beaten anybody that I think is even remotely good.

FWIW, I think El Gato Malo was proving to be as any three year old running on the east coast. It's a darn shame he got hurt.

And there's no denying Bob Black Jack can sprint.

You can throw the, "Well, who'd he really beat?" line at nearly the entire three year old class this year.

Folklore, Tiznow's first crop champion 2yo daughter, won the Matron S (Belmont), Adirondack (Saratoga), and BC Juvie fillies (Belmont again, I think). Bear Now won the Cotillion H (G2) at Philly as well as her stakes wins at Woodbine. Tiz Wonderful won the Kentucky Jockey Club S (G2) and Iroquois S (G3) at Churchill Downs. Try looking at the full record. Branding Tiznow as a sire whose get can only perform at top levels on AW and therefore Colonel John cannot run well on dirt courses is a distortion of the data.

You really cherry-picked there and completely ignored the fact that I never said Colonel John couldn't win on dirt, only that Tiznow's progeny does better on synthetics than dirt.

What I attempted to refute was your ridiculous assertion that Tizdejavu winning two turf races means Tiznow is a great turf sire.

Tiznow is a very solid sire..His early success on all surfaces and distances make him a very logical choice for almost any type broody..Plus because his pedigree is so foriegn to the rest of community he really has to be seen as a godsend to breeders. I really don't believe the broody's he saw early in his career were nearly as accomplished as the ones that he will be bred to in the coming years.. With that said I look for him to be a leader in the shed for a long time.

As for his horses success on poly who knows its to soon to say if he will continue to excell on the fake stuff.. i think there is enough evidence to support that Tiznow offspring can and will be Graded winners on all surfaces, age groups, and both sexes. The sky really is the limit for Tiznow..
