Haddafort is certainly the class and the deserved favorite. The only thing is that i am scared that it is too short for him and there might not be enough pace. What did you think about the pace scenario?

Does Around the cape have anything left?

See that Pants, Devry Institute has a great computer programming course. You should check that out and then go get a job with computers. Maybe its your calling!

That's ok. You should give that a shot though. I have a feeling you're going to be unemployed soon.

My thoughts exactly on Hatta Fort, however he;s probably good enough to hit the board anyways. and on Around the Cape... no. Too bad.

If that is the case, i am going to go with siphon the kitty. Perhaps he can wire this field.

Good luck to all and to you phil on that Dutrow selection.

Nah, don't change your pick! For the purposes of the game I think Hatta Fort is a much better selection than Siphon the Kitty, the objective isn't to pick winners at a price but survive!

On topic...

this race is impossible and I would only play for pick 3 purposes the 2,4,5,7. Let Motion's horse and Godolphin beat me. They'll be underlays.

Not changing the pick. Just asking someone who obviously knows his stuff what they thought about a particualr horse. Obviously you think he is done...and i will take that at face value. If i had a strong feeling either way, i would have just picked him. And if he wins, no redboarding.

What made me curious was the barn switch and the jump in class.

cheers.

Oops, I'm confusing myself. Zippy was the one who took Hatta Fort for the NYRA Showdown. From a win bet perspective I'd probably take the 2, despite Lukas mushing everything he has.

As for Around the Cape, I really liked that one and I think old age has caught up to him. I think he still holds the 6F turf record at Belmont.

They all look like they need 6 1/2 - 7f except for Redefined and none match his jump...That said if this goes 23-46 it's anyone's race, but I'm leaning toward a wire job. I'm playing Redefined over Snowstalker, Hatta Fort and Siphon the Kitty.

Phil's right. The goal is to survive, not pick winners (although that helps!). I wouldn't bet Hatta Fort to win today (both because of the likely low price, and the distance).. but I feel he should hit the board. That's all I care about. (i'm sure I've jinxed myself now and will be toast after today!)

FYI, Storming Off is the top selection with 120 entries taking him.

Whew! That's why I usually DON'T pick horses in turf races.. and closers to boot! Nice pick, Phil!
