With respect and affection, I'm thinking Imbongi can beat Traffic Boy home.

My sentimental favorite in that one is Blue Ksar who will probably be last.

I didn't realize Seihali was a 10 year old! He wins one a year at NaS, doesn't he?

I don't think that Seihali raced since the 2007 DWC, so he didn't win one last year. But he is a real veteran.

I'm on the Imbongi bus again!

You're right... I don't know why, thought he had won one last year.

Wonder if he was hurt in this one (?). I'd forgotten he went to HK!

Glad we're on the same bus. Go, Imbongi!

Since you're over there (and not to bug you or anything - believe me, am showing some restraint cause my real list has about 20 horses and I usually ask people to wave and jump up and down and send imaginary baskets of smoochies and peppermints ) if you ever happen to see Bonecrusher please send my regards (ie blow a kiss for me. When no one is looking, of course!). He was just about last back in December, no idea if he's still running, hurt, retired.

Nice horse with a big heart. Hope he's okay.

We've gone through this before, mmsc......

Just because you have several restraining orders currently standing on trainers, jockeys and horses, it doesn't mean that you can send someone else to do the dirty work for you

Found this on Racing post...

Poor guy.

At least he's alive...

Carnival winner Silver Mist ruled out for season
By Jason Ford7.19PM 17 FEB 2009

SILVER MIST, winner of a 71/2f turf handicap on the opening night of the Dubai Carnival before following up in style by winning the Group 3 Al Rashidiya over 1m1f, also on grass, will miss the rest of the campaign and probably year.

The son of Western Winter fractured a cannon bone when working at Nad Al Sheba this week, according to his trainer Mike De Kock: "Obviously it is very unfortunate and a great shame as he has arguably been our star so far, but he has fractured a cannon bone and there is no speedy solution. He will be sidelined, I would imagine, for the rest of the year but, all being well, will be back for next year's carnival."

A useful performer in South Africa for former trainer, Englishman Joey Ramsden, he was one of the new additions to a powerful De Kock team. World Cup night and the Dubai Duty Free, probably via Super Thursday, had appeared on the cards after his Al Rashidiya win. That form was given a big boost last week by the comfortable victory of Kirklees, third to Silver Mist, in a valuable handicap for Godolphin.

How I see the races?....

Satish Seemar has an interesting runner from Brazil (Team Victory) and although, we know little about him, there are far worse each punts.

It looks hard to look past Stubbs Art third in both the English and Irish 2000 Guineas in 2008. Admittedly, his form tailed off towards the end of the season but his trainer is well known for getting horses back to their brilliant best and so a big run is expected

A 4lb rise and top weight may not be enough to stop Asset who won quite impressively for the first time in almost two years the last day. He is weighted to confirm form with Contest who he had in behind that day and plus Warsaw has since come out and franked the form of that race.

Summit Surge commands plenty of respect and it would be great to see an Irish winner in a race of this significance over there. The trip is possibly on the short side but as was said before any horse that finishes second in the Irish Champion Stakes is a fair animal. Gladiatorus looks best of the locals.

Rocks Off for Mike De Kock was champion 2yo in his home country last year but he dosen't appear to be much of a star round Nad Al Sheba. But this is a serious drop in company and he will definitely be in the shake up.

Again a difficult race but this track is nearly tailor made for Young Mick and he has run very well here already. The long straight suits his style of running and these races are normally set up for the closers. Waldvogel is very interesting for Luca Cumani and Johnny Murtagh and its very difficult to gauge how good he actually is. He may well be a blot on the handicap but his price will still be a bit short. Another thing that catches the eye is the fact that Ryan Moore rides for David Elsworth when normally he would be assiociated with Luca Cumani so the betting will be informative as regards Classic Punch's chances. Desert Links has great form back home but again, the trainer dip in form is off putting. Sanbuch another with a decent chance.

Obviously Jay Peg isn't entered but this was on the HKJC site, nothing about him anywhere else. Anyone know what the "training setback" is about? Thanks.

Weichong Marwing cancels trip to Dubai

19 February 2009

It was previously announced that Club Jockey Weichong Marwing would be absent from Hong Kong so as to partner JAY PEG in the Al Fahidi Fort (Group 2) to be conducted at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse tonight. Jockey Marwing has advised Management that due to a training setback JAY PEG did not accept for this race and accordingly he did not travel to Dubai.
